Hi, I've learnt a lot from YouTube from tutorials that people have very kindly put on there,
so I thought I'd maybe try and do one myself.
This is a song [D#] by Nancy Griffiths.
[G#]
[F#] [D#m] [N]
Initially you have to detune the guitar.
The sixth string goes down two frets, or two tones, to a D.
The fifth string is then tuned down from an A to a G.
And the first string is tuned down from an E to a D.
Okay, so as you can see I'm
To make [D] it comfortable for my voice I've [C#] actually put the capo on the fifth fret,
which moves [D] everything else to [E] a higher tuning.
Wherever the capo goes, just count ninth fret up,
and you're [G] actually fretting the first string on the ninth [C] fret.
And all the rest of the string is played over.
[F#] Interestingly, you play the twelfth fret against the first string,
but instead of holding it down, you put your finger above the string,
just hovering above it, and play the string.
And you get [G] this.
This is a harmonic.
[C] So
[F#] The next phrase you actually play the [G] second string at the tenth fret.
[C] And again [G] the harmonic.
So I'll put [C] those two together.
[F]
So, first string ninth fret, [A] second string tenth fret, harmonic over the twelfth.
[G] You then move down to [Bm] the fifth fret,
barring the first and second [G] strings.
And [D] then tip the seventh with you, with your little finger.
The seventh [A] fret.
[C] The rest of the strings over the seventh.
We'll start from the beginning.
[Am]
[C]
[F#] [C] [B]
For the [F#m] chorus, very [G] simply, it's the A minor chord [E] played at [G] the third,
[C] and the first.
At
[G]
[N] the end of the chorus there's one more chord,
which is the A minor harmonies.
It's made by hitting the fifth string on the second,
and the [G] second string on the third.
So it's the fifth, and the second.
[C]

[N] OK, I'll let you listen to my version of the song now.
[D] You should be able to follow it now, after that little bit of instruction.
I hope you make an attempt at learning
