[Bm] So [E] the band originally started maybe about [F#m]
almost three years ago, maybe two years and a half.
[F] [E] We were first called Retrospect, but [A] [C#m] couldn't keep that name for so long because we would have been sued if we did.
So [Bm] I thought of, hey, let's keep Retro in there.
[E] And then one day I was live on [G] Instagram and somebody mentioned Los Retros, which [E] made me [B] remember the times that my mother would listen to a lot of bands [C#m] with los, meaning the in [A] Spanish.
[Em] And a lot of those bands were like Los [Bm] Fredis, Los Terricolas and [E] Los Angeles Negros.
So I was like, hey, [A] you know what?
[Bm] Maybe it'll be kind of like a [F] [E] remembrance of my past, what my parents used to play, which I didn't really care for at the time.
But now [C#m] I [Bm] tend to listen to them a lot.
[E] Growing up in Oxnard, [C#m] I was born in Ventura and then I lived in [F#] Oxnard for like [Bm] two years, [A] moved [E] out, lived in Wainimi, which is Port [A] Wainimi for not too long.
Maybe like 11 years [C#m] and I moved back to Oxnard.
[Bm] Growing up [E] as a kid, I listened to a lot of random [Bm] stuff, a lot of stuff that my brothers [E] would play, you know, and I'd pick up on that.
[A] [E] But I knew there was more to that, obviously, because I listened to hip hop samples and [C] I got into the [Bm] samples themselves.
And I would want to listen to [E] the originals because I knew there was an original.
I knew there [Bm] was people playing the instruments.
But
[A] [E] one thing that stuck to my mind was my parents would [A] play, [C#m] which was like Spanish rock [A] from like the [C#m] 70s.
[C]
[Bm] And now I just so [E] happen to really like those tunes and [C#] realize, I guess my [C#m] maturity somehow kicked in and now [F#] I tend to make tunes [C] just like those.
[Bm] To grow [E] as a musician, I guess it all really, number one, depends on what you want out of it.
[A] If you want [C#m] fame, you want [Bm] a better [D#] financial status or you're just simply doing it because you like doing it.
[C#m] That's what I'm doing.
[F#] I guess [Bm] that'd be the first question you'd want to [Gm] tell [E] yourself.
And then secondly, you know, [A] if [Em] you can't do it on your own, you don't have enough knowledge to [E] become something, I guess [Bm] ask those who do know.
[E] And if you can't, I'd say, you know, we have the Internet to this [C#m] day, you know, and it's pretty [F#] easy to figure out how to [C] [Bm] take that second step.
And then [D] thirdly, [E] I'd say don't get full [A] of yourself.
[C#m] I say definitely respect what [A] you do for what you do [E] and do it for you.
[A] [E]
A lot of the ideas for the Retrospect album were [D] about my wife who's [Bm] sitting there right now.
[E] Most of the songs are all [Bm] about her.
It has a lot to do with what, [E] you know, before we became together, you know, [C#m] before we became a thing, before we got, you know, engaged.
[Bm] I guess [E]
I felt there was a point in time where I felt like I was [Bm] lonely, you know, no one cares.
[Dm] I'm just making [E] songs about it and [C#] hopefully someone will listen and I'll go [A] big.
That's kind of [E] what my first idea was.
But [A] I started learning along the [C#m] way, you know, it's really more about, [Bm] you know, using my emotions [E] and feelings to become something better.
As a matter of fact, it [A] was more of [Bm] a lesson to me.
[E] And a lot of the [Bm] songs are basically for people to [A] listen to who might have gone through the same thing that I did, you know, hopefully will [E] become something much better.
[C]
[Bm] And [D] feel better about, you know,
[E] the sad times in their lives and know that [C#m] there's a lot of potential, there's plenty of potential.
[F#] I know for a fact.
The last song, Last [Bm] Day on Earth, doesn't necessarily mean to scare people [D#] [E] that there's a last day on earth and there's some [G#] conspiracy behind it.
[A] It's more [C#m] about being happy, you know, no matter [A] how bad things may be, [E] even if it's the last day on earth, if people are [Bm] suffering, you know.
Be kind to one [E] another, be nice, have respect [Bm] for yourself and for everyone else and just have a great time.
[E] There's a new [A] album [E] coming out.
[A] Well, [E] if it, [C] if hopefully it [Bm] comes out, if hopefully my label is [E] like, yeah, it's a go.
[Bm]
Happy Hour, that's what the album is called.
It's a [A] funk album, [E] jazz album.
Strongly [A] inspired [E] and from [A] the [E] 70s.
[C]
A [Bm] lot of the funk stuff that was coming out in that time.
[E] Definitely needs to come back.
[C#m] Show kids, you know, in these days, a [F#] lot of the stuff we listen to is actually a descendant from [Bm] a lot of stuff way before we were even [F] born.
[E] And there's a lot more music to listen to.

_ [D] _ _ _ [C] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ [D] _ _
_ [E] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
[A#m] _ _ _ _ _ _ [C] _ _
_ _ _ _ [A] _ _ _ _
[C] _ _ _ _ [Bm] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [A] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [Am] _ _ _ _
_ [Bm] _ _ _ _ _ So [E] the band originally started maybe about _ [F#m]
almost three years ago, _ maybe two years and a half.
[F] _ [E] We were first called Retrospect, _ but [A] _ [C#m] couldn't keep that name for so long because we would have been sued if we did.
So _ _ _ _ [Bm] I thought of, hey, let's keep Retro in there.
[E] And then one day I was live on _ _ [G] Instagram and somebody mentioned Los Retros, which [E] made me _ [B] remember the times that my mother would listen to a lot of bands [C#m] with los, meaning the in [A] Spanish.
[Em] And a lot of those bands were like Los [Bm] Fredis, _ Los Terricolas and [E] Los Angeles Negros.
_ So I was like, hey, [A] you know what?
[Bm] Maybe it'll be kind of like a [F] _ [E] _ remembrance of my past, what my parents used to play, _ which I didn't really care for at the time.
But now [C#m] I _ [Bm] tend to listen to them a lot. _ _ _ _ _
[E] Growing up in Oxnard, _ _ _ [C#m] I was born in Ventura and then I lived in _ [F#] _ _ Oxnard for like _ _ [Bm] two _ years, _ [A] moved [E] out, lived in Wainimi, which is Port [A] Wainimi _ for not too long.
Maybe like 11 years [C#m] and I moved back to Oxnard.
_ [Bm] _ _ _ _ _ Growing up [E] as a kid, I listened to a lot of random [Bm] stuff, a lot of stuff that my brothers [E] would play, you know, and I'd pick up on that.
[A] _ _ [E] But I knew there was more to that, obviously, because I listened to hip hop samples and [C] I got into the [Bm] samples themselves.
And I would want to listen to [E] the originals because I knew there was an original.
I knew there [Bm] was people playing the instruments.
But _ _
[A] _ [E] one thing that stuck to my mind was my parents would [A] play, [C#m] which was like Spanish rock [A] from like the _ [C#m] _ 70s.
[C] _
_ _ [Bm] _ And _ now I just so [E] happen to really like those tunes and [C#] realize, I guess my [C#m] maturity somehow kicked in and now [F#] I tend to make tunes [C] just like those.
[Bm] _ To _ _ grow [E] as a musician, _ _ _ I guess it all really, number one, depends on what you want out of it.
[A] If you want [C#m] fame, you want _ [Bm] _ _ _ _ a better [D#] financial status or you're just simply doing it because you like doing it.
[C#m] That's what I'm doing. _ _ _
_ [F#] _ _ I guess _ _ [Bm] that'd be the first question you'd want to [Gm] tell [E] yourself.
And then secondly, you know, [A] if [Em] you can't do it on your own, you don't have enough knowledge to [E] become something, I guess [Bm] ask those who do know. _
[E] And if you can't, I'd say, you know, we have the Internet to this [C#m] day, you know, and _ it's pretty [F#] easy to figure out how to [C] [Bm] take that second step.
And then [D] thirdly, [E] I'd say _ _ don't get full [A] of yourself.
[C#m] I say definitely respect what [A] you do for what you do [E] _ and do it for you.
_ [A] _ _ [E] _ _ _
A lot of the ideas for the Retrospect album were [D] about my wife who's [Bm] sitting there right now. _ _
[E] _ _ Most of the songs are all [Bm] about her. _
_ _ It has a lot to do with what, [E] you know, before we became together, _ you know, [C#m] before we became a thing, before we got, you know, engaged. _ _ _ _ _ _
[Bm] _ _ _ _ I guess [E]
I felt there was a point in time where I felt like I was [Bm] lonely, you know, no one cares.
[Dm] I'm just making [E] songs about it and [C#] hopefully someone will listen and I'll go [A] big.
That's kind of [E] what my first idea was.
But [A] I started learning along the [C#m] way, you know, it's really more about, [Bm] you know, _ _ _ using my emotions [E] and feelings to become something better.
As a matter of fact, it [A] was more of [Bm] a lesson to me. _ _ _
[E] And a lot of the [Bm] songs are basically for people to [A] listen to who might have gone through the same thing that I did, you know, hopefully will [E] become something much better.
[C] _
_ [Bm] And [D] feel better about, you know, _
[E] the sad times in their lives and know that [C#m] there's a lot of potential, there's plenty of potential. _
[F#] I know for a fact.
_ The last song, Last [Bm] Day on Earth, doesn't necessarily mean to scare people [D#] [E] that there's a last day on earth and there's some [G#] conspiracy behind it.
[A] It's more [C#m] about being happy, you know, no matter [A] how bad things may be, [E] even if it's the last day on earth, if people are [Bm] suffering, you know.
_ Be kind to one [E] another, be nice, _ have respect [Bm] for yourself and for everyone else and just have a great time.
_ [E] _ _ _ _ There's a new _ [A] album [E] coming out. _ _ _
_ [A] Well, [E] _ if it, [C] if hopefully it [Bm] comes out, _ if hopefully my label is [E] like, yeah, it's a go.
_ _ [Bm] _
Happy Hour, that's what the album is called.
It's a [A] funk album, [E] jazz album. _ _ _
Strongly [A] inspired [E] and _ _ _ from [A] the [E] 70s.
_ _ _ [C]
A [Bm] lot of the funk stuff that was coming out in that time. _
[E] Definitely needs to come back. _ _ _
[C#m] Show kids, you know, in these days, a [F#] lot of the stuff we listen to is actually a descendant from [Bm] a lot of stuff way before we were even [F] born.
[E] _ And there's a lot more music to listen to.
_ [A] _ _ _ [E] I'm Adi from Los Retros [A] and you're tuned into Once to Watch. _
