[B]
[D#] So I've just finished recording a DVD that I had a [F#] lot of fun doing because it's an 80s
metal DVD.
[D#]
So I'm kind of a child of 80s metal.
So it was great for me to go back and [F#] learn
songs like Rats Round and Round, [D#] Accepts Fast as a Shark, I've always been a huge fan [F] of
that German metal band from the [F#] 80s.
[F#] Also did 18 and Life from Skid Row, [C#] Every Rose
Has Its Thorn from Poison and Kisses Heavens on Fire.
[B] A lot of great [C#] songs, a lot of great
solos, great rhythm [A] guitar.
I go through all of the songs [B] with a backing track [C#m] as well
so you can hear how they sound in [B] context and I [C#] teach you all of the parts, even all
of [C#m] the harmony parts.
There's a lot of [C#] harmony guitars going on in [Em] some of these songs as
well.
[B] [F#m]
[A] [B]
[F#] [G#]
[C] [D] Well the song that's probably the [Em] most involved would be Fast as a [A] Shark by Accept
because we have [D] all of those harmony guitar parts during the second half of that [Em] solo.
So you learn all of the [A] arpeggios, I show you all of the [D] harmony parts as well.
That's
[Bm] challenging because it's also pretty [Em] quick.
[A] There's also a great solo in Rats Round and
[A#] Round, Warren Demartini is one of [D#] my favorite guitar players, especially [D#m] guitar players
from that era.
[B] He's a fantastic player.
So it's challenging to learn that song, [D#] learn
that solo note for note and then [D#m] teach it but I think you'll get a lot [B] out of learning
it.
There should be some good licks that you can use in your own playing as well.
[G#]
[G#m] [G#] [F#]
[E] I think
there's a little something for all [F#] levels of playing in here.
For [G#m] example, Every Rose
Has Its Thorn by Poison has just some folky, strumming, acoustic guitar parts.
You can
learn to play that song if you're just strumming away on an acoustic guitar.
The Kiss track
[C] is also not that involved, [D] not as involved as say the Accept song which I think you have
to be at a higher [G] level to be able to perform that note for note.
But the songs pretty much
run the gamut.
You can be a basic player and be able to play the Poison song or the
Kiss song.
I would say the Rat track or the Accept track would [C] be for the more advanced
[A] players.
Skid Row, [B] somewhere in between.

[B] haven't heard some of this before, [C#] if you want to know kind of where I'm [F] coming from,
the [D#] stuff that I listened to at the [C#] time, this is a good place to [B] start.
These are songs
that I've always enjoyed listening to and playing.
