G'day there, I'm just going to give you a little bit of a video demonstration on how to play
Ricky Lee Jones Last Chance Texaco the proper way.
The first thing you're going to need
obviously is a well set up six string guitar, as lower action as you can get, without buzzing
obviously.
I'm playing [Ab] today my Takamine PT406 [E] lawsuit 1982 model, very nice guitar.
[Gb] Secondly,
[F] I'll just put this up [Fm] for a minute, [N] you're going to need the words and the chord chart.
What you need to do with those, tear them up, [Ab] throw them away, useless.
Now I will warn
you that most of this song is played with barre chords, hence why you [Abm] need as lower
action [Fm] on your [E] guitar as you can get.
[N] If you're used to standing on three chord country corner,
it's probably going to be a little bit [Abm] difficult for you to grasp [Db] this straight away, but [F] with
[Abm] a lot of practice you will get it.
[N] I'll set the [Ab] video up, or the camera up so that it's
focused in close to my left hand so you can actually see the way the chords are set up,
and they're really only variations of the basic chords, so they probably haven't really got a
particular name to the chords, hence why you have [Bb] just torn up your chord chart.
[Ab] But we'll give it a go and [Gb] I'll set the camera up, there'll be a little bit of editing and
hopefully you can learn to play this the way it was meant to be [Eb] played back in 1979 by Ricky Lee
Giant.
Hope you enjoy.

Sorry about the abrupt ending in that little
clip there, and also some of the variations on the way I play my chords, mainly [D] the D,
that's just the way I learned to play it.
I found that the [N] easier way for me, but you'll play [G] it
the way you learnt obviously.
[N] There's nothing worse than seeing a song, if you're going to
take the time to learn how a song's been played then you may as well do it the right way.
So have
a go, see how you go with it.
It's not that difficult when you [Gb] take the time to [Abm] listen to
how [Ab] the chords are set up.
I never take any notice of chord charts because 99 [N]% of the time they're
wrong anyway, so the year is always more accurate.
It might take you a little bit longer to get it
right but you'll get there in the end.
So I hope this video has been helpful to you.
[G] Thank you.
