Larry Carlton - 335 Improv - Breaking Down Triads - Blues Guitar Lessons chords
Start Jamming...
So you heard a lot of triads in there didn't ya?
It's such a cool thing.
I've enjoyed it for so many years exploring triads
You know when we're on that C minor 7
That's [Cm] going to the F.
You heard me play for the C minor 7.
[G] That's a 1 3 5 right there
[F] And if you go to the F
[Cm] 1 3 [F] 5 on F
[C]
[Ab] But it's how the rhythm how you interpret it that makes [Cm] it interesting check it out 2 3 4
[F] [Cm]
[F] [Gb] Same triads, [Cm] but you break it up and make music out of it your way
So for C minor 7th you also heard me play
Which isn't exactly a triad, but it starts off with the thirds [A] and [Eb] right?
There's that C minor 9th chord that we talked about and that's [A] going to lead us to the F 13th chord
[F] back to an F triad
[Cm] [F]
[Eb] [Am] [E] [Cm]
E-flat triad which [Eb] is where we started earlier on this discussion
That's an E-flat [Abm] triad [F] going to an F.
So I think lastly I'm just going to show [N] you F to E-flat
F to E-flat kind of up the neck and give you maybe a few more variations, so we'll start with the F
[F] [C] E [Eb]-flat
[F] F
E-flat triad [A] F [Am]
triad [Eb] E-flat
[F] F
[Eb]
E-flat [F] F a [Eb]
[F]
[G] lot of choices [Eb] just for those two chords right there, right?
Cool, hope that helps
[G]
Now I want to get into the chromatics.
We got to talk about playing some chromatic licks against these same kind of changes
