Kid Rock Stuns Gretchen Wilson With "Bad Feeling" chords
Start Jamming...
[C] 2017 Country Jam and who's ready to get rowdy with Gretchen Wilson?
[F]
[Eb] You're back!
I am back.
Three [C] years away from the road and new music.
How does it feel?
It feels good.
You know, I got a teenage daughter.
I'm a single mom, so I'm sure all the parents out there know that it's, there comes a time
when they hit a certain age, you just [F] gotta be there full time.
And so it's been really awesome taking the time to just be Grace's mom.
But [C] I was, you know, feeling the burn and the itch to get back out here and she basically
told me to go.
She was like, Mom, please get a life.
You got kicked out of the house by [E] your daughter.
I did.
This [D] is what happened.
And I alluded to it right at the front, but you got a new album out, Ready to Get Rowdy?
I do.
And I had the time off, so I wrote the whole album.
This is the first time that I wrote every song on the album, so I'm really proud of it.
Look for a duet with Kid Rock on that album.
It's called Bad Feelings.
Yes.
Who is rowdier after a show, you or [C] Kid Rock?
Ooh, well, I'd say it's [E] pretty even.
[F] Yeah.
Oh boy.
I don't think I can keep up with you guys.
[Bb] I don't know.
I mean, it kind of [C] depends on the [C] night.
Sometimes he's babysitting me [Gb] and sometimes I'm [C] babysitting him.
It just kind of goes both [F] ways.
And it's a real soulful song.
And you hear a lot.
I mean, you kind of bring out the best of Kid Rock's vocal [C] ability.
You know, I sent him the song [Ab] and he said he would [D] sing on it.
And I thought he was going to sing an octave lower than that.
[C] I was amazed when he sent me the track back and he was like, hey, I sang your song today
and I listened to it.
And I was just amazed at how he really wailed on it.
He really sang really well.
You might have heard Rowdy already and she just released a new single, Summertime Town.
You're known [A] for songs as well, [F] like Along the Lines of When I Think About Cheatin' and
those great [C] ballads.
Is there anything like this on this album?
Oh yeah.
Yeah, the record [Em] goes, it's typical Gretchen.
I [Db] mean, anybody who knows Mirror, has listened to me, knows I'm not a follower.
I [G] don't chase.
I [C] just do what I do.
I was raised on traditional country and southern rock and roll.
And that's kind of what the album is.
There's a lot of really traditional country and there's some honky-tonk kind of songs,
but [B] it rocks a little bit and gets soulful too.
[D] I know there's a few thousand people out there that are really, really glad that you're coming
back and thank you for playing Country Jam.
Gretchen Wilson, Ready to Get Rowdy, 2017, [D] Country Jam.
