Hey everybody, _ we're _ here at Gettering, Ohio.
We're actually going to go in here and do a _ surprise birthday party for one of my band members. _
We had an eventful August because we've got like _ seven, _ I've got seven employees [G] that
had birthdays in August, so we retired a birthday cake. _
But while we're walking, I wanted to [Eb] take you through _ _ what a typical day holds for me. _
For instance, this morning we got here _ [B] _ [G] after a really short drive.
We [E] were probably about 150 miles away [B]
last night and _ [B] we _ _
_ [E] _ _ [Abm] got here [G] and basically this morning,
the first thing I really did was _ _ go play basketball.
We like to play basketball as our form of exercise out on the road.
_ It helps us bond and get closer [A] and exercise and just have fun, just kind of let loose
and forget about the stress and the business side of what we do out here on the road.
We just got through eating supper in here at _ [A] Gettering _ [Db] and we're about to go have this [B] birthday party.
So everybody should [G] be eating there.

_ [F] Last [Gb] week we were in Raleigh, North Carolina [C] and it was my monitoring engineer, DC's birthday
and _ [Bb] he's a _ [Db] chain smoker.
There's no other way [G] to put it.
And we got creative [B] and made [Gm] _ this cake for him.
_ _ [G] _ _ _ [N] _ _
_ _ We had professional bakers on [Db] site that day so we got lucky [Gb] that day.
We [B] normally have a sound check every day.
There's very [E] few cases where we don't have a sound check.
A lot of times when we don't have a sound check it's either because _ [Db] we're having technical
difficulties or [G] there was just not any time built in during the day to do it or we're
_ [Bm] in a situation like at a fair where it's just kind of open house all [G] day.
_ [A] _
_ Normally [E] you can do a sound check but my preference is not to do a sound check when there's [G] people out there.
This is a great venue here. _
It's just kind of _ _ somewhat of a residential [B] area but it's a city common ground as they
describe it this morning.
But we're going to be playing the single again tonight.
Why don't we [E] just dance.
This is the first single off of my new album.
The album is called Maywire and the fans have been responding really well [Eb] to the single
and like I said we got some [G] great reaction from it.
We'll be playing [B] again tonight and like I said we should have a good [Db] crowd on hand.
_ [F] _ _ Everybody's been talking about [Eb] how great the cookies are here.
_ Well when we got [Bb] here me and a certain other person that's [C] holding the camera right [Eb] now
_ was all about getting some cookies.
Well [Bb] when we got here to catering [F] for supper there were no cookies left so we had to [Eb] ask
one of the ladies back here if she would _ [G] make some especially for us. _
So we had to get ready for the surprise [Ebm] birthday thing so we didn't want anybody stealing them
so we [G] had my trusty old road manager here hide them for us in his road case _ [Gm] so nobody
would have them.
And they're still warm.
Is it insulation?
Oh yeah it's insulation.
Yeah insulation.
[Eb] I put them on top of these towels so they'd be nice.
It's good for storing cookies or anything else.
Any other baked goods [C] in there.
So there you go.
