Today I'm going to show you a few ways to play the groove from Hello from Kess
The first way just keep it simple kick will play
[D#m] 4 on the floor, [F#] hi-hat will play 8 notes and the snare will have [N] this pattern
That's to keep it simple but in the song you also hear a thumb playing on the third note from the snare
like this
Also you hear a shaker going playing 16 notes
Now if I play that 16 note pattern with my right hand only
I won't be able to keep up.
Maybe some other people will but I can't
So I'll play 3 16 notes instead of 4
like this
Additionally instead of playing the hi-hat with one hand.
You can also play the hi-hat with two hands and
Alternate between the thumbs and the snare.
You just have to figure out when which hand is playing the
Snare and when which hand is moving to the thumb.
Of course you can do your own interpretation a little around the basic
pattern that's laid out in the song.
Let me know if there's any other song you might want me to check out for you and
