Kenny Rogers; Lee Ann Womack - Every Time Two Fools Collide [2005] chords

When Dottie West passed away in September of 1991 following a car accident, country music lost one of its greatest ladies.
Dottie's sparkle and warmth gained her many friends, but none better than Kenny Rogers.
In fact, the classic duets these two gave us were a happy accident of friendship.
Kenny happened to be booked in the same studio as Dottie and came by early for his session to say hello.
In the control room,
he quietly sang along as she listened to the playback and the rest, as they say, is history.
At number eight, Every Time Two Fools Collide.
She says, I really would like to sing something with you.
And [E] I said, well, maybe I'll go try this one.
I'll sing the [A] next verse on this.
So I went [C#] out and I sang it and it was just
[D]
magical.
[Bm] [D] [G] She said, Shelly, come out here.
I want to play you this.
[Em] And I thought,
holy,
[D]
I just [G] thought this, this is [D] just gonna take y'all places you've never been.
[Em]
[A] Every time two fools [D] collide.
Every time two fools collide, [G] I played the little grooves off [D] of that 45.
I'm a huge Dottie West fan.
I thought she was [A] so great.
And the two of them together just sound
[Bm] incredible.
She just had [Bm] so much yearning [E] in her voice, so much ache and hard [A] living and just
[C#] feminine [D] grit.
And I've survived.
[G] I think this is a great example of them [Em] at their best.
Two people standing on stage and looking [D] like they're loving every [G] minute of being together.
There was [D] some kind of inside something going on there, you know, [Em] and people could feel that.
People [A] in the audience could feel that.
[D] The two of us had, I think, such a good, warm, personal [Bm] relationship that it always showed up in our [F#m] music.
To [G] [N] perform Every Time Two Fools Collide, here's LeAnn Womack and Kenny Rogers.
[C#] [D#] [C#]
[A#m] You want [Fm] things your way
[F#] and I [C#] want them.
[G#] And now we [A#m] don't know
[D#] just where to [G#] draw the line.
And [C#] how can love survive
[F#] if we keep [D#m] choosing sides?
[C#] And who picks up the pieces
[D#m] every time [G#] two fools [C#] collide?
[A#m] You [Fm] lay the blame on me
[F#] and I'll lay [C#] the blame on you.
[G#] Why do we [A#m] keep finding fault
[D#] in everything [G#] we do?
[C#] How long [A#m] can we keep [C#] riding along
[F#] so cut [D#m] and dry?
[C#] And who picks up the pieces
[D#m] every time [G#] two [C#] fools collide?
[F#] We can [C#] save our love
[F#] we still have [G#] a [A#m] child.
[B] [G#]
[C#] There must be a way
[F#] that we still [D#m] haven't tried
to [C#] keep [F#] our hearts [C#] from breaking
[D#m] every [G#] time two [A#m] fools collide.
[F#] To keep our hearts [C#] from breaking
[D#m] every [G#] time two [C#] fools collide.
[F#] [D#m]
