Keith Urban revealed four new songs during a pop-up show in Nashville, and of course
we got the details.
[Am]
I'm Andi Hammer and Taste of Country was there for [G] Urban's announcement of the Graffiti
U album and tour.
Click in the upper right corner for tour [Dm] dates with Kelsie Ballerini and then let Keith know
[G] which show you'll be attending in the comments [C] section below.
As for [F] the music, the singer [G] says he's nearly done with his 10th studio album, his [F] first
since Ripcord in 2016.
No release [G] date announced yet, but he did play four brand new, never heard before songs
that were very un-Ripcord-like.
Yeah, all that experimenting and flirting with EDM and hip-hop?
We're not saying there won't be surprises when the full album is released, but songs
like [F] Same Heart and Texas [C] Time were much more organic.
Steal My Thunder was [G] first, and it's a sexy mid-tempo song that finds Urban playing [Bb] acoustic.
[A] Emily Wiseman [Eb] helped write the lyrics that go,
In every room, it's all eyes on you.
But I don't mind, you can steal my thunder every time.
Next, Urban played a devastating breakup [B] song called Same Heart.
Thumbs up this video if you just want to give him a big ol' [C] hug at the end.
[F] In the air,
[C]
[F]
you got the, you [C] got the same heart.
The night's biggest surprise was a pop swing [F] song called [C] Texas [Fm] Time.
It's an [Gm] extreme departure [F] for Urban, as it's just so country, until the end when he [G] does
this crazy Peter Frampton-like guitar solo.
After singing [A] of tight t-shirts [N] and hot bodies,
Rawr!
Okay, not his hot body.
Urban sings I'll Show You Where It's At, Let's Get Back to Texas Time.
We couldn't help but wonder if this song was a nod to his hero Don Williams, who had
a hit with Tulsa Time.
Let's [B] compare them.
I was going to Arizona, maybe on to California, where the people all get to [E] [Bb] fly.
I look west, back to [Fm] California, starboard, and ask, girl, is so much more [Eb]
today?
[G] Finally, Urban rolled [Bb] out Parallel Line, [G] a few hours before it's release to the world.
Baby, it's time we put our hearts in a parallel line, he sings.
Full disclosure, Urban did say he wasn't sure about the new album's final track list,
so any of these four songs could get cut.
But it's so nice to have new music from him, isn't it?
There was [Bb] one more surprise when a random fan got to sing Without You with him prior
to the new tracks.
Of course, we know that's nothing new.
