[C] It's not just celebrating specifically instruments made out of cigar boxes
But it's really celebrating the idea that you can make [Bb] an instrument out of just about anything
And if you want to [G] if you want to be creative if you want to make some music, it doesn't matter
[C] How much equipment [Db] you have how many tools you have how much money you have [G] how many nice guitars you have
[F] What year they [G] were made anything like that?
if you want to make music you can look around and make music out of just about anything and I think [N] that's one of the
lessons that you know throughout time has been
Very very predominant, you know with [Db] blues musicians
You listen to a lot [G] of you know
We learned a lot of the history of blues music and a [C] lot of those early guitar players
[D] People like Muddy Waters lighting Hopkins
You know [N] a lot of the greats Elmore James both did we they either started out [D] on one string did we both or cigar box?
Guitars or homemade [Gm] instruments of some [Dbm] kind and I think in a lot [G] of ways, you know
It's [E] no coincidence that that style [N] of music
Developed into blues and the blues has a lot to do with these types of instruments because the two go hand in hand
You know, it's kind of like reverse engineering
Blues music when you play an instrument like this you really see
What it came from and this one right here while it looks like a Telecaster
It's a it's all handmade everything the neck the body.
It's all made out of
Scrap wood pieces like that.
The neck is rosewood
The top is made out of the top of a jack Daniels whiskey barrel.
The back is a
200 year old Tennessee barnwood
Oh
The pickups are completely handmade hand [Bm] wound when you look at it, though
It looks like a conventional instrument, but in a lot of ways
It's just as traditional [F] as the most simple [N] and rugged, you know, one or two string cigar box guitar
But it's amazing.
You know when you [Bb] develop the talent you develop the skills to build [N] instruments
There's no limit to what you can make out of found [Gm] objects
