Hey guys, this is Jurasz Fajgiet and I'm here with another video.
I've been a little bit ill this Christmas.
[F] Anyway, I think it's time to do this nice tune, this nice saxophone intro to Careless
Whisper by George [Dm] Michael.
The tune is very simple.
It's all in one key, D minor, and the chords are D minor, G [G] minor, and then [Gb] B flat major,
[Bb] and then A minor again.
[Am] It's all [C] in one key, just one scale, so it's really easy to play.
And I played it on C harp, as if in a third position.
You need one overblow there, [N] but there is a harp you can play it without any overblows.
And that's F harp, because D minor is a natural minor of F major, so if you have F harp, you
can play it without any overblows.
I only have this vintage Herring harp, 1923.
It's a heavy duty harp, but really quite hard for me to play.
I used to play that, but the reeds are very hard.
And it's excellent for pre-war blues, and country blues and stuff, but it's the only
harp I have.
The one that is high F, it's quite squeaky, and I like to play that one.
So you [D] can play it on this one.
[G] So that's the first phrase.
You start 7-hole draw, 6-hole draw, [Fm] [G] and then 5-hole blow, and 4-hole [Gm] blow.
So [Dm] [Dm] that's [N] the first phrase.
The second phrase goes
[D] [G] 6-blow, 5-draw, [D]
4-blow, and 3-hole [G] hold the bend.
[Dm]
[G] [B]
OK?
[F] [G]
Or you can stomp on the 4-hole blow.
And then you outline this chord here, [Bb]
[C] [Bb] [Gb] which is B-flat major [G] chord.
5-hole draw, 5-blow, 4-hole blow.
[Eb] Then 3-hole draw, bend, hold the bend.
[Dm]
[N] And then 2-hole draw, [Bb] hold the bend.
[G]
[Bb] And then you go [A] up the scale, starting on 2-hole blow.
[G] [E]
[Gb] You're playing a major scale in the first [A] position.
[G]
So that means 2-hole blow, 2-hole draw, bend, hold the bend.
Then 2-hole draw,
[B] 3-hole bend, hold the bend.
Then 3-hole draw, [F] 4-hole blow, [Gm] [G] 4-hole draw.
[D] [E] And you finish on a 5-hole blow.
And you can return to 3-hole draw.
[D] [Dm]
Or [Bm] draw, but bend, hold the bend.
So it goes like
[Gm]
[F] [C]
[Bb]
[E] [A] And then 1 again.
[D] [G] So that's it.
I hope you enjoyed that.
And there's [F] also tabs for the one I play on C harmonica.
I wanted to finish, but now I got the idea.
I also like to quote this song in blues, in minor blues.
In minor tunes, where you have the same progression, it's like
You go D [Dm] minor, which is as if the 1.
And then you go to the 4th, which would be G minor.
[Gm] It's like blues, right?
[Dm] [Am]
[Gm] [Dm]
Except the Kaelas Whisper is not blues.
But you can use this minor melody to quote in blues.
And I like to do that.
[Gm] [Bb]
[Bb] [Am]
[F] [Dm]
[Gm] [G] [Bb]
[Am] [Dm]
