[E] _ _ _ was [B] reading a book, a compilation of essays called God With Us, and I was in a hotel room
in Surrey, British Columbia, recording my [E] Christmas album.
_ And [G#] in this case, the book was so good that I couldn't continue reading it because I kept
wanting [B] to write a song.
I'd read two or three pages and I'd pick up my guitar and I'd read two or [E] three more.
And finally, I don't know that I ever finished the book, but I did finish the song.
_ _ [E] So [B] this is the song that came out of that.
[G#] I'm struck by the fact that in our story, [F#] that although the plan of salvation and God's
[A] sacrifice in [N] the Lord Jesus has been in the planning from time [A] immemorial, the [B] story starts
at the Nativity.
It [E] starts at the incarnation.
And the word becoming flesh is the model for us as believers because we are to, with the
aid and instruction [B] of the Holy Spirit, to [C#] incarnate the things that we know to make
them [E] flesh and blood.
So he is exhibit A and the author and [E] finisher of this endeavor, God With Us.

He comes in mercy, not in wrath.
