Sometimes you just come in and you're wired and you're feeling good, the day's going great, you just want to write it up tempo.
And I had this riff going on for a while.
I'd been listening to a lot of Buddy Holly Radio on Pandora.
Yeah, a lot of Buddy Holly Radio on Pandora.
And the way he kind of mixed that hillbilly rock with the rock, that hillbilly with the rock and roll,
and that syncopation and the way he was just driving, I was like, you know, kind of Richie Havens, but he was way before that, Richie Havens.
And I said, man, I'd just [D] love to be able to write something in a contemporary form [B] with that, but put my stamp on it.
And I wrote that with Don Cook and Mark Colley.
And Don Cook had a great title called Rather Be Wrong Than Lonely.
And I said, that's great.
And I figured out a way how to make it work melodically.
[N]
And that song basically is just, there may be someone or something that's bad news for you, but you're just, you don't care.
You're just, hey, I'm willing to take the risk.
I'm all in.
And it's really just about a woman that's probably bad news, but you don't care.
You'd rather hang out with her and go home with her that night than be lonely at home.
So it's just a fun up-tempo song.
It comes off really well live.
