This is [Gb]
[D] Jason [N]
[A] from Jason Video Music Tokyo.
[G] I have the complete honor, I'm sorry but this is a bit of a fanboy moment for me, to be standing with the most exciting dude I'm probably [Ab] ever going to do a NAMM video with.
This [G] is the legendary, and I'm going to let him say [N] his own name because I always do that.
John Sykes.
I'm so happy to be here with John, mate.
It is an honor to meet you.
It's my pleasure.
I've been following you for so many years.
I'm a huge fan of the Blue Murder album.
Thank you so much Jason, I appreciate that.
I'm curious, is there any chance, because I've asked Carmine and I've asked Tony, is there any chance of a reunion that you can see?
I'm not sure what we're going to do with reunion, but I've been playing with Tony recently.
We've been playing and that's my new drummer over there, Fred Bozzle Jr.
Hey Fred Bozzle Jr.
We've been jamming out and when I go and hit the road, which will be early summer time, I'm looking forward to playing some of the old Blue Murder stuff.
I'm doing stuff from White Snake, Blue Murder, the new stuff off the new album, some of my old and new stuff mixed together.
There'll be a bunch of that stuff in there.
We've been having a lot of fun playing it.
That'll be amazing.
Now I want to clear up something for you that has just taken the internet over [E] by storm.
There's a Facebook account that I saw and I was like, John Sykes is on Facebook and like 5,000 friends almost overnight and there's all these pictures being posted.
Is that really you or is it not?
Absolutely not.
There's some imposter out there and I keep getting contacted by people that are talking to this clown and he needs to be shut down because he's kind of like putting a bad vibe and a bad rep out there for me.
So unless it says official on it, it's not me.
So [N] stay away from the guy.
I'd probably even go as far just to speak for you.
If it's not actually a video of John saying, hi, this [G] is me, it's not really him.
Yeah, that's right.
Because anybody could [Dm] just write official and it's just some clown.
Oh really?
Oh [Ab] hell yeah.
[Em] People do it all the time.
Okay.
[Dm] [N] Technology.
Exactly.
So if the Facebook page or the whatever thing isn't really John saying, hi, I am John [E] Sykes, then it ain't really John Sykes.
And I don't do a lot of social media stuff.
I stay away from all that.
I'm pretty much a low key underground guy.
I stay well out of the way unless I got something I want to come out and do and be part of to promote [A] something new.
[E] I don't do that stuff.
I'm not a big computer guy.
I'm old school.
But I'll be doing stuff now.
I got this new [F] record coming out.
[Eb] I just signed with Golden Robot.
You know Mark over there.
I do indeed.
Signed with them about six months ago.
We're getting the album out [F] early [G] summertime.
So looking forward to getting that out.
The album's been around for a while, but I'm looking forward to getting it out.
I know the fans have been waiting a long time.
And I love my fans, by the way.
Thank you so much for supporting and sticking with me.
I'm looking forward to getting out, hitting the road and getting this new album out there.
Very nice.
Well, I have to ask you on behalf of, because I'm Australian, of the Australian fans and also because I live in Tokyo, the [E] Japanese fans, please, please come to [D] Australia because I don't think, have you ever played in Australia?
I don't think I've ever been.
That's one place I haven't been.
And when was the last time you were in Japan?
[Ab] Oh, it's been a long [A] time.
Blue Murder [D] maybe?
No, no, it was after [G] that.
[Eb] Actually, the last time I played was with Tommy [E] Aldridge and Marco Mendoza.
It was a long time ago.
[G] But I always love the Japanese fans.
They're the best.
[Abm] They've been supporting me for [E] many years and I love [A] them all.
I'm looking forward to getting back over and saying hi to [G] some of my old friends over there too.
Great.
Well, I don't want to take up any more of your time.
John, it is an honour to meet you, sir.
It really is.
Thank you very much.
Bless you.
Thank you.

I'm Jason.
