[C#]
No damn sense [N] at all.
[D#] [G#] I wrote this one [D] because I hadn't written [Fm] a song in a [F#] while.
So I [C#m] thought if I don't write, [F#m] they're gonna [N] take my guitar away.
[F] So [D#m] I wrote the song about [N] three different
Each verse was about a different story.
And I tied it together very loosely.
[Bm] I'll tell you the story behind [G] the second verse.
[F] Actually the story [N] is a lot longer than the freaking song.
The [G] song is [G#] mercifully short.
[D]
[N] Well, people sing.
[D] So [B] the [Cm] second verse [A#] is about
In [D] January 1966, [G#] I got [A] inducted into [N] the U.S. Army.
My mother was up.
So they took me and about four of my best buddies down to the induction center in Chicago.
And the first thing they do is they get your physical.
And they take your clothes off and look up your address.
And then they go and send you into this other room.
Because they want to find out where you're good at.
So they take you in there and give you a test.
An aptitude test.
And they didn't [F#] know it, but [G] I really didn't like to take [G#m] any test whatsoever.
[Dm] [F#] So I didn't open up the question, [F] but I just [G] took the answer sheet and put [C#] A, [F#] B, C, D, A, B, C, D.
[C] And I handed [F#] it in.
And they [C] ran it through their computer and said,
This guy's a [N] fucking genius.
[G#] So [F] they put me in charge of a motor pool [D#] with nothing but [B] construction equipment.
All the nuts and bolts were this big.
I had a monkey [N] wrench half the size of this stage.
[D] So it was [F#] pretty easy to identify [N] parts.
We buried a bulldozer once because we couldn't account for it.
There's your cash money right there.
