It gets misunderstood
[Abm] It seems to me you are a guy who writes songs [Db] are often satirical
Observations of things going on in our world and it seems to me for whatever reason you get in trouble for it more [Eb] than people
[Ebm] Praising you for what's that all [Em] about?
What is it about [Ab] satire that makes it such [Abm] a powerful but I guess kind of dangerous tool
[Ebm] Yeah, you know
[Db] _ I think that [E] I write songs that have a satirical [F] element and also sometimes [Bb] a very sincere element
How's [C] within the same song?
[F] I think maybe people miss that

[Eb] I don't know purity [Abm] of emotion within the [E] song
_ but for [B] me, I like cultural [Ab] products whether [Am] they be [E] books or movies [Em] or songs that

I've got [Ebm] some songs that [D] are sort of funny and [G] sad
and that's what I like to listen to and I don't know why I get in trouble probably [Ab] because
Yeah people I think I want purity and I I don't like purity.
I wouldn't be sincere if I provided it
I love a song like comfort eagle because
There's so many [D] different images and so many different ideas being played around in there
And I think you know, [A] maybe I bring my own [Cm] ideas to them
But you know [G] seems like cars are being kind of made fun of the power of cars and [D] the wacky [B] morning DJs who are everywhere
They're ubiquitous making [G] fun of democracy and stuff when they probably don't [Dm] even know what it is half the time [G] to me.
