This song is odd in that it's so simple in its approach, but
when we had started working on the studio in this particular song I had this
This feeling while I was watching some other players over the years films of musicians and how in jazz players, you know, they
They walk on a stage like this.
They're all kind of dressed pretty well and
Guy's got his horn and he plays a melody.
He plays a little solo
He plays the melody and it's all over and he doesn't step on any pedals.
He doesn't change his sound
He's not twirling his horn up in the air or anything, you know, and I'm thinking that's that's kind of elegant in a way
so how can I achieve that where
You eliminate some of those things that rock and roll accumulates some showbiz stuff and and try to make it more streamlined
And you know on my records prior to that there was always a different guitar sound for the introduction
Different guitar sound for the verse maybe a new one for the chorus
Different guitars for the bridge a couple of different sounds for the solo
So we thought well, we're gonna buck that trend and let's just have one guitar sound.
It was actually very difficult to mix
But Andy Johns came up with a little secret that maybe I'll tell you later
anyway about that, but this is this is
And sometimes I curse myself for writing this song like this because I spend a lot of time on tour
Standing on one leg and you'll see why
