[F#] Hey, this is Joe Robinson and I'd like to play a little of my [A] song, Do You Want It To Be Me?
And then I'm going to show you guys the chords I'm using and the voicings in case you want
[E] to steal a couple of the chords.
We should take it slow, [A] cause I know [F#m] this fool's rushing.
And [B] I've been here before, [A] and I can tell that you haven't [F#m] been.
[F#m] I see it in your eyes, girl.
There's a note in [A] my head I can feel the heat.
There's only one first love.
Do you want it to be me?
[A]
[Cm] So we're in the key of A here, but I'm capoed up at the second fret [A] and I'm playing in the G position.
So we're in the key of G, you know, shape wise.
And I'm doing this little figure.
It's kind of like a little R [F#m]&B kind of vibe.
So [B] [F#m] I'm just on the D, G and B strings here.
I'm doing a little hammer on.
So it's kind of like the [F#] hammering from the capo to the [A] second fret.
Then I'm playing that G position and the left hand is using the thumb to bar that low note.
Little pull off there.
And then I'm going down to the [F#] E minor.
So
[F#m] the chords are [A] kind of like G shape, [E] E minor shape.
[B] And then I'm playing like the C [D] bass note here with the thumb.
[E] I'm breaking all the rules here.
[B]
And then D shape, [E] [E] a little [F#] hammer on there.
Another little R&B slide.
[E] [F#m]
[A] [F#]
[Am] [B] [E]
Then during the verse, [A] it's just going to this G shape,
[F#] down to the E minor shape, [A] to
the C shape, kind of like a sus chord, to the [E] D, the V chord, [F#m] the VI minor, which is
the E minor shape, the IV, which is like the C [A] shape, [Bm]
down to the II minor here, [A] which
is like the A minor.
[F#m] Walk back up, [D] and to the D, V [A] chord, resolve to the G shape here.
So it's as simple as that.
It's a really fun [A#] song to play.
I love playing this chord sequence.
And there's a pretty neat solo on the recorded version that I really love playing.
So I'm going to loop the chords now, and then I'll play that solo.
And now you can check out the record [A] to hear the proper version.
