I got [C] the chance to do footlights on the Grand Ole Opry when my father passed [Gb] away
It was his [G] favorite song

Ever since then it's [Gb] just been [C] my favorite moral haggard song is and since I've been an entertainer for a little while
I understand what the [Db] song is about more than ever now
I've got [Bb] it because my dad loved it, [G] but I get it now [Ab] because I kind of live this in my mind sometimes
