And welcome, guys, to Gospel [D#] Music Today.
Thank you.
[E] Jody, tell me a little bit [G#m] about the background of the [F] group.
We've [Em] been singing now for 15 years.
My family started out, and Stephanie began singing when she was real little.
And her brother started playing the guitar for her.
And then me and my wife [C] started putting the harmonies with, and that's how it got started.
Stephanie, when you started [E] in gospel singing, who was the person that inspired you, that [F] influenced you the most?
Probably, [B] other than my parents, my grandparents really were [G] involved in this [A] industry.
They didn't do a whole lot of bigger events, but they were always going weekends and everything.
And [B] I started going on a bus when I was two weeks old with them.
And so we always, I [G] remember going down to my grandpa's house, and he had this big old tape player that he would have [F] all the new cassettes on, and he'd be playing [F#] them.
So they [G] really influenced me quite a [F#] bit.
I mean, as well as my parents, my dad [B] took me to a lot of gospel concerts growing up.
[C] We've enjoyed the singing this week at the Quartet [E] Convention.
We had never really had a [G] chance to hear the Jody Brown Indian family [A] that much before.
And it's just great.
We love that family [N] sound. Absolutely.
Thank you.
What's coming up new for the group?
Go ahead, Stephanie.
Well, we just finished our brand new album with Crossroads Music this past August, and it just came out this week, and it's called Possibilities.
And God has allowed me to write all of the songs on it, and that is an amazing milestone for our group, as well as I also co-wrote with my dad, my mother, and my sister-in-law.
So that's coming out, and we have also with the Harper agency, they have been booking our dates.
So they've got us going some amazing places with some really awesome songs for the next year.
Okay, that's great.
Thank [C#] you very [F#] much for being on Gospel Music Today.
It's been a pleasure to talk to you.
