Hendrix's feedback started apparently, according to Noel Redding, by he was playing the blues
really cool, whatever he was playing, and some bikers got really excited in Germany
and they rushed the stage.
And when they rushed the stage, [E] Jimmy got paranoid, he thought they were going to take
his guitar away from him, so his guitar was full blast, he threw it like that behind him,
and when it landed, it started screaming like an aurora borealis, that's the only way
to describe it, you see an aurora borealis, right?
Northern Lights, like that.
And so Jimmy looked at the guitar, and there, you know, there's Monterey.
And UFOs and imagination.
Flying saucers have [Db] invaded our planet.
Washington, London, [A] Paris, Moscow are key targets.
The whole world is under [Abm] attack.
I wouldn't say that he had a real [N] fanatical fascination with science fiction no more than
any other kid, but he [Dm] just embellished it.
Gee whiz.
[Bm] [Dm] This [Bm] could be the beginning [D] of the end for the human race, for [G] what men first [N] thought
were meteors, or the often ridiculed flying saucers, are in reality the flaming [Bb]
vanguard
of the invasion [F] from Mars.
He could do a lot of scenes from War of the Worlds, you know.
[Bm]
Looks like [G] they're going to come out of that [D] gully pretty soon.
We'll have to rush our defenses to be ready when [Bb] they do.
We've got to keep [B] plenty of reinforcements.
We'll get them.
[Bb] Lieutenant, look!
[C] [N]
He'd make these really weird sounds, and they would come out of these science fiction movies
like Space Men, Attack Earth or something, and that weird background music, I know everybody's
heard it in some kind of form or fashion.
