Hey guys, here's Chet Baker solo on the jazz standard autumn leaves
This [C]
tune was written by Joseph Cosma in 1945 and it is [N] one of the jazz standards
It is usually played in three different keys.
Of course, you can play it any key.
It's usually played in the key of a
C or B flat major and then some people call it out in the relative minors of those three keys
Chet Baker chooses to do it in the key of B flat major or the relative minor
G minor you can find the melody in the sixth edition of the real book published by Hal Leonard
Although the melody is in a different key
You could always transpose it either by sight or you can write it out
You can also find this transcription on my website at Jeff Lewis trumpet comm
So I'm gonna do a version of it with the backing tracks that I made with the band in a box
Software and I'm gonna post the original version
Which is at about 180 BPM and this autumn leaves version by Chet Baker
Is not only in a different key than the original but it also has an 8 bar tag at the end
So I'm gonna publish the one with the 8 bar tag and play along with that one now
So feel free to play along with me.
Let's check it out
