I'm gonna be fearless, [Bb] [F] no holding back, no back and down.
[Dm] I'm fearless [Bb] [F] because I believe you're with me now.
[Dm] The [Bb] song Fearless is [F]
such a strong declaration, in my [Dm] opinion, [Bb] of just understanding [F] what
it means to overcome fear and [Dm] what it means to truly be bold and [F] to be fearless.
When I actually went in to write the [Dm] song, [Bb] before I went in the [F] session, I had a panic
attack and so [Dm] I've suffered with anxiety for a while and it was something that I kind of
wanted to write about, but [Bb] initially that day [Eb] I didn't intend to write the song Fearless
[Dm] at all, but went in to the session [F] and after I kind of got [Dm] myself together and then I kind
of broke down right there with the other writers and producers in the room.
So it was [F] a really crazy experience because [Dm] it challenged me to just be vulnerable and
just put my cards out on the table and say, hey, this is [G] what I'm dealing with, this is
what I'm going through and [Bb] it's real.
And it's really hard.
We ended up writing Fearless and I feel like it's one of those songs that a lot of people
[F] will be able to connect to, whether you suffer from anxiety [Bb] or not.
I think that [F] fear is something that everyone [Dm] has felt at one time or another in their [F] life
and just to understand though [Dm] within that, that you don't have to [Bb] struggle with it for
the [F] rest of your life.
It doesn't have to be what [Dm] defines you.
God has called us to be fearless and he's called us to be bold [Bb] and it's just a [F] message
that I want people to be able to listen to [Dm] and to feel good [Bb] about themselves [F] and to know
that they can overcome anything.
