Start Jamming...
[G] [Ab]
[E] I'll just go over the things most people get wrong on it.
Which is the [Ab] opening riff.
The very first thing.
You get that.
[Gb]
[Dbm] The next chord.
[Abm] [Ab]
[E]
[Am] [Gm] [Ab]
Which is an F chord.
[E] Right?
It's basically an F chord.
But I fret it with my pinky.
[B] [Bb]
[A] [E] [Ab]
I [Gbm] like the way that resolves.
So it's an [Ab] F chord.
Then I alternate it [E] with
Which is all based off the F chord.
[C] [Dbm]
It just [Ab] fucking ran with the note on the full scale.
[E] [Ab] [E] [Db] [Ab]
Right?
So that's what most people [Abm] fuck up there.
They also fuck up the next part.
[Fm] Because [F]
I keep this on the bottom.
Which, all the tabs I've seen
I've watched that one.
It [Abm] doesn't do that.
They [Fm] think it's F sharp [Db] to a D [Eb] to an E.
And it's not.
I mean, it's basic.
[F] But I keep the root note the same.
The [Db] [Gb]
[F] [Eb] tension on [Ab] the bottom.
[Eb] [F] [Db] There.
[B] The last chord.
It [Eb] [N]
gives the resolution.
Otherwise it's [Ab]
[Db] [Eb] [F] [Db] [Eb] just Same thing.
The way I do it [Ab]
is
[Eb] [G] You get that [Abm] resolution.
So, the other [Ab] thing.
The other thing?
[Dbm]
[B]
Uh It's the
[Gb]
[Ab] People get that right.
[C] And then, I don't know [Abm] what they do for the next one.
But I do this.
[E]
[N] So I was looking to
Musically, I wanted it to start out like
I wanted it to open up.
As far as the top note, bottom note.
[Ab] Start close.
And then kind of move out.
And I wanted to keep the tonality the same.
So I wanted to keep it on the B and G string.
So [Abm] it's
[Ebm]
[E] [Gb] [Eb]
[Abm]
[Bb] [B] [E]
It's [Ebm]
[Eb] easier, but it doesn't sound the same.
So, I did it the hard way, not to be blushing.
[Cm] But because the tonality sounded right.
[Eb] So [Abm] it ended [Ebm] up
[E] [Ebm]
[Abm] [Ab]
It's been 30 years.
I never thought I was going to play this song again.
It's a [G] dead-end story.
People want to hear it played by a gluten-worn bass.
Alright.
[D] I'll give it a go.
[Em] [Ab] [Gb] [G]
[Ab]
