INSTRUMENTAL Funk Keyboards (Rhodes, B3) chords
Start Jamming...
What's up everybody this is Steve Bannick.
I'm going to do a quick tutorial on how to play a funk jam
So basically I've pre-recorded
drums bass and
B3 Hammond B3 and I'm going to lay [F] down some Rhodes
I'm going to do a Rhodes solo and a piano solo probably the piano solo first.
We'll see but I want you to first
hear the
[F] Raw tracks that I've recorded
So here they [B] are here's the drums for example.
It's going to sound something like this
[N] So that's the drums the B3 will sound [Eb] something like this
[Am] [E] [B]
[C] [N] You know something like that and then the
Baseline will be like [B] this
[G] [C] [D] [F] [Gb]
[G] So if you put it all together [F] you get this
[Em] [B] [C]
[Dm] [Abm] [G] So it's just a nice little groove, so I'm just going to basically put a Rhodes [Dm] solo on it
[Em]
[F] Something like that.
Let [Abm] me just make sure I got my levels right here, and I do okay, so here we go
Let's do [F] one pass through with so the chords are just a D minor 7 [Dm] which is this
to a [Em] G to a modified G
[G] 6 normally you do a G7 like this
Which is like a G B D F
But I'm going to do I'm going to add the 6th which is [Em] E
It [Bb] sounds good with that with that fifth on the top or with that fourth on the top rather
[G] fifth down there, so [F] just
[E] Something [F] like that so here we go
[Em]
[Dm] [G] [Dm]
[G]
[Dm] [G] [A]
[Dm] [G]
[Dm] [G] [F]
[Dm]
[Am] [Em] [Dm]
[Em] [Dm]
Okay I
[C] [F]
[A] [Cm] Didn't like that solo too much, so I think I'm [Abm] gonna try another pass [N] at piano, so let's
Let's try that and see if I can get into it anymore.
I've kind of run out of ideas there, so here we go
Let's try it again
[F] [Em] [G]
[Dm] [Em] [F]
[D]
[Dm] [G]
[Dm] [G]
[Dm] [G] [F]
[G] [Dm] [G]
[F] [Dm]
[Em] [B]
[Dm] [C]
[F] [D] [Cm] you
[N] That's all it is just a simple little
Function again the chords are D minor to G and the components were drums bass
B3 Rhodes and piano [Eb] hope you liked it.
