[Bbm]
[Ebm]
[Bbm] [Ebm]
[Db] Take a little time
I [Ab] don't want time to crash, [Ebm] it's over
I [Bbm]
[Ebm] better read [Db] between the lines
[Ab] In case I need it when [Ebm] you're there
Ah, [Eb] [Ebm]
that is a [Db] mountain I will slide
Feels [Gb] like a world [Ebm] upon my shoulders
In the [Db] clouds I [Gb] see the ocean
It's [Ab] the [Ebm] warmest life I've ever known
In [Abm] my life, [Db] there's been heartache [Abm] and pain
I don't know if I can [Abm] face it again
Can't stop now, [Db] I've [Abm] traveled so far
To [B] change this [Gb] world around
[Db]
I [Abm]
want you to [Db] show me
I want to feel what love is
[Abm]
Now you [Db] can show me
Your [Ebm] love
I want to know what love is by Forner
Another power ballad from the 80s, 84
I was a teenager in those days, so I love a lot of those songs from that [Db] decade
And definitely power ballads and this one
I bumped into the acoustic version a week or so ago
Just them playing it [Abm] on acoustic guitars
So I thought it would make a great lesson
Also for beginners, because in a way it is pretty simple
Firstly, all the strings should be tuned down a half step
Which is how it is on the original recording and how they do it still
So [Eb] then you have an Eb, [Ab] an Ab, [Db] a [Gb] Db, a [Bb] Db, a Bb and another [Eb] Eb
From there, we talk about chord shapes
[Ebm] So, only 5 chords involved there
There are different [Eb] chord shapes because they're with 3 guitar players
So, you know, they change it up for that matter
But [Ebm] eventually there are 5 chords
Em, [Gb]
G major, G and [Db] 5
D major, dressed up [Db] with a sus4 and a [E] sus2
[Gb] C sus2, see there are a couple of added notes there
Or you can [B] just play C major, [Gb] that's fine, but C sus2 is easy too
Then [Abm] Am and [B] Am7
I will show you those chords a little more closely in the lesson
And also a couple of what the others are doing for that matter
[Gb] Then, strumming, keep it simple
1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and
Speed of 16, that's actually the only thing which is really set
Other than that, play through the song [E] randomly, how they absolutely do [Gb] as well
[Ab]
You can play certain [E] accents here and there, which I will point out in the [Abm] lesson as well
A couple of syncopated chord changes like in the pre-chorus
1 and 2 and 3 and [Db] 4 and 1 [Abm] and 2 and 3 and 4 and 1 and 2 and 4 and so on
We talk about the [Ebm]
[Eb] signature riff which is very nice to add of [Db] course
The progression in a way is straightforward
It's all in 4-4 time, but it does here and [E] there changes in time signature
All of a sudden you have [Eb] a 2-4 measure and so back and forth
Usually in the verses
So, breaking all that down in the lesson
Ok, now, if you want to learn how [E] to play this one
I wanna know what Love Is by Forner, the acoustic version that is
