[C#m] Today I'm going to show you how to play the song I Can Only Imagine by Mercy Knee.
Such a beautiful song of what we're awaiting in heaven to see [C] Jesus.
So the introduction
looks like [Em] this.

So that is introduction and what you're playing here is you're playing the E chord
_ _ and then the A [A] chord.
_ Just two [E] chords with your left hand and we're going to be kind of using the
simple form of the flowy style just the one and five and I have a lesson on the flowy style on my
website.
It's an amazing pattern to use with songs and [C#] with your right hand you're going to be playing
the melody which is you have a D sharp here E and _ then a B _ and then you have a D sharp E B and then
that's those same three notes really quick _ _ and then D sharp E C sharp _ D sharp [F#] E A and then that
[G] repeats.
_ So if you need to see that again go ahead and rewind and look at it but that is how the
introduction looks like and then going into the verse the chords are E and you can technically
keep playing the same exact thing.
I won't because it's really hard to play that and sing.
[E] So you can play that and sing especially if you're playing it for someone else who's singing
but for this purpose I'm just going to be playing chords _ for the verse and the chords are E _ _
_ _ _ _ _ and then you have a E I mean [A] A _ _ _ _ _ and then again you have a [E] E and then a [A] A and notice I'm going to be
playing A inverted chords so this is the original A I'm playing A inverted and inverted [E] chords are
amazing they help you play with your eyes closed and prevent your hand from moving like from E to
[A] A.
It's [E] a pretty far distance so to prevent [C#m] that you're just kind of barely [A] moving your hand and

um _ it's really simple all you have is those two chords E and A so I'm going to try and do this
this is a male vocal range range so I'm going to try and sing really high here so _ I _ _

so you can kind of include that uh [G#m] instrumental or you can go straight into the chorus so
_ that was kind of hard for my voice because it's such a quiet and gentle gentle verse it's just
wow [C] it's kind of hard to sing that gentle and that like high [A] um and then so you can go into
the chorus and the chorus chords are just A and _ then you have a [B] B and then you [E] have an E
and that's it so those are the chords A B and E super simple so I'm gonna go down a bit with my
voice so _ _ and _ then [A] surrounded by glory what [B] will my heart feel will I [E] dance for you Jesus _ or in
love you be still will [A] I stand in your presence or to my [B] knees will I fall will I [E] sing
_ _ hallelujah will I be [A] able to speak at all I can only _ imagine _ whoops I switched to the

he just kind of goes to a really simple instrumental _ can only [E]

A2 A2 means that you're playing this this is an A [A] chord this is an A2 [E] _ _
