HOW TO PLAY - Zelda - Song Of Storms (Piano Tutorial Lesson) chords
Start Jamming...
Hello guys, this is Amos Stole Music and in today's lesson I'm going to teach you how
to play this super awesome catchy song called Song of Storms.
So here we go, give you a preview of what you're going to learn in today's lesson, it
goes like this.
[G] [F] [A]
[Bb] [F] [Bb] [A]
[Dm] [G] [F]
[Bb] [A] [Dm] Yeah, repeat it.
[F]
[Bb] [F] [Bb] [A]
[Dm] [G] [F] [Bb]
[A] [Dm] Yeah, that's it.
Okay, let's get right into it.
Super catchy stuff, let's go ahead and learn it.
Before we actually learn it, something very important to mention, this song is in 3 4
so it's always in 1 2 3 2 2 3 1 2 [C] 3 2 2 3, it's always in that kind of time.
You can do it in 3 4 6 8 whatever, but it's in triple time.
But anyways, always remember that and it will be a lot easier.
Counting in 3's, everything for the right hand will be a lot easier.
But anyway, let's get right into it.
Break it up into 4 parts so it's easier to learn.
First part goes like this, right hand starts on the D right next to middle C [D] reference here.
So D [Bb] up to F up to D, back down to the lower D up to F up to the higher D, and [Eb] then up
to E, [F] F E F E C down [D] to A.
And that's the right hand for the first part.
Once you get the right hand for the first part, it goes like this, let's do it again.
So it [Bb] goes D F higher D, back down to D F higher D, [D] E F [F] E F E C [Dm] A.
That's the right
hand for the first part.
Once you get that left hand, 4 chords here, the 4 chords are D minor, we're doing the
block chords first at the end I'll just tell you the pattern, it's a pretty simple pattern anyway.
So D minor, D F A, second chord is E [Em] minor, which is E G B, third chord [F] F major, F A C,
fourth chord back to E minor [Em] again, which you know, E G B.
So with these 4 chords [Dm] in mind, so D minor, [Em] E minor, [F] F major, [C] E minor, the 2 hands together
it goes like this, D and D minor [Dm] together, D and F E minor [Em] together, E and F major together,
[F] E and E minor together, like that.
[B] That's the first part.
One more time, it goes [Dm] together, [Em] together, [F] together, [Em]
together.
Yeah, okay.
So the rhythm, it is in triple time, look at it, it's like [Dm] 1 2 3, [Em] 1 2 3, [F] 1 2 3, [Em] 1 2 3.
Great, see, it's actually in triple time, so you need to count in that if you want to
play the proper rhythm.
Okay, that's that for the first part.
Right hand for the second part continues like this, it goes [Dm] A down to D F G A, A D F G
[E] E, and that's the right hand for the second part.
Okay, one more time for the second part, [Dm] right hand goes A D F G A, A D [E] F G E, and that's
the right hand for the second part.
Once you get the second part [Bb] for the right hand, left hand we have four chords here,
the four chords are B flat major, which is B flat D F, second chord is F major, [F] which
is F A C, third chord B flat [Bb] major, B flat D F, and fourth chord A major, [A] which is A
C sharp E.
Okay, so with these four chords [Bb] in mind, so B flat [F] major, F [Bb] major, B flat [A] major, A major,
the two ends together goes like [Db] this, so A and B flat major together, so together, A
and F [F] major together, A and B flat major together, [G] E and [A] A major together, and that's
the second part.
One more [Em] time, so it goes like this, it [Bb] goes together, [F] together, two three, together, two
three, [A] together, two three, and that's it for the second part.
Back to back, the two parts we've learnt so far will be played like this, check it [Dm] out,
it goes.
[D] [F] [Em]
[Bb] [F] [Bb]
[A] Sounds awesome already.
Now, moving on, something awesome happens because the [Em] third part is actually completely the
same as the first part.
[Dm] So, woohoo, we just saved some time.
Here we go, so third part is the same as the first part, just like this.
[D] [F] [Em] That's it, okay?
So, back to back, the three parts we've learnt so far will be played like [Ab] this, so you know
how it's all connected, so check [Dm] it out.
[D] [F]
[Em] [Bb] [F]
[Bb] [A] [Dm] [D]
[F] [Em] Like that.
Moving on to the fourth and last part of this section, right hand [Dm] goes A down to D, [D] F G
A, down to D, and that's it for the right hand.
One more time, so it goes like this, it goes A D F G A, down to D, and that's it for the right hand.
Left hand just finishes off [C] with three chords here, the three chords are [Bb] Bbmaj, Bbdf, second
[A] chord A major which is A C sharp E, and third chord just finishes with [Dm] D minor, D F A, just like that.
That's it, one more time, so [A] Bbmaj, A major, [Dm] D minor.
With that in mind, the two hands together [Db] goes like this, A and Bbmaj together, [Bb] A and
[A] A major together, 2 3, D [Dm] and D minor together, just like that.
One more time, [A] so it goes like this, it goes together, together, 2 [Dm] 3, together, 2 3, hold.
And that's it.
Back to back, all four parts will be played like this, check it out, so it goes.
[D]
[F] [Em] [Bb] [F]
[Bb] [A] [Dm] [D]
[F] [Em] [Bb]
[A] [Dm] Yeah, that's it.
So after you've got all this melody and chords right, [C] with all the notes, with all the rhythm
correct as well, then you can start to think about the improvisations.
Well, it's a really simple improvisation, not even an improvisation, it's like a decoration
pattern, a component pattern.
For the chords, [D] you know how it's in triple time, so just for all the chords, do this pattern.
Lowest note, followed by the higher two notes for two [F] times.
[G] So it adds up to the [Ab] three main beats, so it's like, [Dm] boom, [Em]
[F] [Em] like [Bb] [F] that, and just apply it, [Ab] okay?
So it requires a little bit of hand independence because the left hand is doing its own rhythmic
pattern, but not really because it's still formed on that chord, so it's easier than that.
But anyway, applying it, [Dm] it'll be like this.
[G] [F]
[Bb] [F] [Bb] [A]
[Dm] [F]
[Bb] [A] [Dm] Yeah, that's it.
Pretty fun theme to learn and play.
It's not difficult to learn as well, [Gb] and yeah, go ahead.

[B] That's the first part.
