Start Jamming...
Hey guys, Party Marty here, Easy Guitar Tunes.
I've got another request for a few of my subscribers for a Billy Joel tune.
You may be right, might be one of the funnest tunes you could ever play at a party.
Real fun tune to play, so I hope you guys enjoy this one.
[G] It's pretty fast, there's a few chords in it.
There's six chords actually to be exact.
There's a couple of barre chords in it.
[F#] Sorry guys, piano players.
They have lots of chords, so I've condensed it [D#] the best I could.
And hopefully you guys will enjoy this one.
[D] Let's give this one a go.
You may be right, [A] Billy Joel.
The chords are A, [E] E, there's B minor, [Bm] there's [G] A, I'm trying to think, G.
There's also an F minor sharp, which is a full barre on the second fret.
[D#] And then the second and third string from the top on the fourth [F#m] fret, with your third and fourth fingers.
And then there's a [D] D.
So again, let's [G] go through those chords.
[A] There's A, [E] E, [Bm] B minor, [G] G, F [F#m] sharp minor, [D] and D.
[B] This is a really, it's kind of a [D#] fast strumming tune, but it's a real fun tune nonetheless.
So I'll try to strum it slow at first, and then we'll pick up with the song.
It kind of goes something [A] like this.
Saturday I said I'm sorry.
Sunday came and dragged me out again.
I [Bm] was only having fun, [G] wasn't hurting anyone.
[E] And we all enjoyed the weekend for a [A] change.
I'll slow it down a little more.
[Bm]
[G] [E] Yes, that only proves that I'm [A] insane.
[B] So strum through that a little bit, rewind it if you have to, and kind of get the up and down of the chords,
or up and down of the strum rather, and then join us for the song.
You may be right, Billy Joel, real fun tune, guys.
This will go over well in any situation you're playing in.
You should try to make an effort to learn this [G#] one.
So I hope you guys enjoy it.
Let's [A] give it a go.
I also kind of play it with a slap drum as you can see.
Kind of mute the strings there a little bit.
You click on my link there, it gives you an explanation of how I'm doing it.
All I'm doing is stopping the strings and kind of flipping the top.
It just kind of [N] gives it a drum beat and a little more flair.
Totally optional.
You don't have to play it with a slap drum.
I choose to do it that way because I find that playing solo almost sounds like you've got a set of drums playing along with you.
You guys can just strum through the chords or you can play the slap drum.
Either way it will work for you.
Let's give this one a go.
You may be right, Billy Joel.
[E]
[Bm] [G]
[E] [A] I was trapped in a combat zone.
I walked through Bedford style.
He rode my motorcycle [E] in the rain.
They [Bm] told me not to drive, [G] but I made him go to line.
[E] So he said it only proved that [A] I meant to say.
You [E] may be right.
I [A] may be crazy.
[D] But you may [F#m] feel blue to [A] take your looking for.
Turn [E] out the light.
Don't [A] try to see me.
You may [D] be wrong, but all [E] I know you may [A] be right.
I remember how I found you there alone in your electric chair.
I told you dirty jokes until [E] you smiled.
[Bm] You were lonely, poor old man.
[G] I said take me as I am.
[E] It doesn't matter, joy or madness [A] for a while.
Remember all the years you tried to find someone to satisfy you.
I might be as crazy [E] as you say.
[Bm] If I'm crazy then it's true.
[G] That it's all because of you.
[E] And you wouldn't want me any [A] other way.
[E] You may be right.
[A] I may be crazy.
[D] But you may [F#m] feel blue to [A] take your looking for.
[E] It's too late to fight.
It's too [A] late to say yes.
You may [D] be wrong, but [E] all I know you may [A] be right.
[E] You may be right.
I [A] may be crazy.
[D] But you may [F#m] feel blue to [A] take your looking for.
[E] It's too late to fight.
It's too [A] late to say yes.
You may [D] be wrong, but all [E] I know you may [A] be right.
You may be wrong, but you may be right.
You may be wrong, but you may be right.
You may be wrong, but you may be right.
You may be wrong, but you may be right.
[N] Here's the Billy Joel, You May Be Right, real fun tune.
You can actually play that chorus over and over and over again.
And people really enjoy it.
They'll love to sing it, love to dance to it.
So I hope you guys enjoyed that one.
