Hey everybody, it's Kenneth again.
Some people asked me how to use the whammy bar of a Jaguar guitar for example
And I thought I will show you my way how I use it.
I think there are a lot of ways
But I also think there's not much you can do with it
actually
Than banning it because this is what it's there for.
I don't have a plaque at the moment, but my
Fingertips should do it as well.
Yeah before I start
I want to [F#] show the effect without any amp.
Some my bloody valentine calls like this
[A] [B]
[A]
[F#] Now with whammy
[A]
[B]
[A]
[F#]
[A]
[B]
[A]
[F#]
[B] [F#]
[B] [F#]
[B] [F#]
[B] [D]
Just hit the whammy bar sometimes at the first note.
So [F#] like
[F] I'm just doing it very slightly like like here [E] and then very [F#] fast
Then it sounds a bit more shoegazing
[A]
[B]
[A]
[F#]
[A]
You [F] can also do it every time [F#] like
[A]
[B]
So [C] you're hitting the whammy bar very shortly every single time you hit the strings
You can also do it very slowly like if you hit the [F#] strings eight times
You
[A#] could also try to bend the whammy bar the whole time you're playing the eight movement
[F#] You [A]
[B]
[A#] [B] [A]
[Am] [A] [D#]
hear that I showed from the other [F#] side
[C]
[C#] [A] [G#]
[A] [B]
[A#] [B]
[A] [G#] [A]
[F#]
Now I show you how it sounds with an amp
[A]
[B]
[A]
[F#] and now with a whammy bar
[A]
[B]
[A]
[F#] What I like to do most of the time is I hit the whammy bar at one at four and then
At three like this one [C] two three [F#] four one two three
one two three four one two three
So just at this position then it sounds that way
[A]
[B]
And because I'm moving the whammy bar all the time.
Sometimes it happens just out of the feel that you
bending it another
counting times just by accident just
Coincidentally, so [F#] with reverse reverb it sounds that way
[A]
[B]
[F#] So he is no whammy bar in it at all.
And now I do it with it
[A]
[B]
[A]
What I [D] do here is that I hit the whammy bar just one time very slowly in
Eight drumming movements like [F#] one two, three, four five six seven eight in the middle [A] of that
I'm bending very slow.
Look at this
[F] [F#]
[A]
[B]
[N]
So when you [F#] counting four then I start bending one two, three
Four five six seven [A] eight one two, three, four five six
Seven [B] eight one two, [F] three, [B] four five six [F#] seven eight.
Yeah
[A]
[B]
[A]
So
This is actually everything I do and I think a lot of people do the same
It's also very funny to use the whammy bar when you're playing a solo you can hit the tone [G#m] that way
[Em] Or you can hit the tone that [G#m] way
Just to create vibration
[G#] [E]
[B]
[D] [E]
[B] Or
[F#m] [E]
[B] you just drumming one single time and make the rhythm with whammy bar like this I
[D]
[C#m] [B]
[D]
[A] [B] [C] Bet this is sounding awesome with delay if you have a lot of sustain on a fuzz or so
So these are some tools try yourself out with this
Don't forget to leave some comments [G] of maybe some techniques, you [F] know
post some videos [G] where you love the whammy bar and
