How To Play - Sonic 1 - Green Hill Zone (PIANO TUTORIAL LESSON) chords
Start Jamming...
Hello guys, this is Amosdollmusic and in today's lesson I'm going to teach you how to play the very iconic Sonic 1 Green Hill Zone theme.
Okay, so there [F] are a few sections we're going to learn.
The first section is the intro motif that goes like this.
The
[E] And then it goes right into the next section.
It's [C] the
Okay, and then it goes to the next [F] section.
[Em]
[F] [Em]
[F] [Em] [Dm]
[C] And it [F] repeats.
[Em] [F] Etc.
Okay?
So there's three sections we're going to learn right now.
Let's get right to it.
Okay, so the first section is just the right hand.
It's really awesome motif.
So right hand, it has [C#m] this pattern.
It goes A F for two times.
So starting on the A F.
Okay, middle C.
Go up an octave C.
Go to the A.
That's where we [F] start.
So A F twice.
And then B G B [C] G.
[G] And then C A C [B] A.
And D B D B.
Like that.
So there's [F] a pattern going on to it.
Okay?
You can see it's like
[B] It's going up one step at a time.
Okay?
On the white keys.
Okay?
So like that.
[F] So when it's faster
[C] [F] So you gotta practice it.
[G#] Okay, so if you're just starting off the piano, it might be difficult because
the agility required for this needs a little bit of time to [F] develop.
Okay?
[Em]
Like that.
It's easy [F] to slip off.
[Em] Okay, so yeah, just get it like that.
[G] Okay, so practice and it'll be all good.
Okay?
So that's that for the first section.
Moving on.
Second section is pretty simple as well.
Right hand.
We can actually go through the whole section.
It goes
B [B] A B A B A C D [C#] A.
[E] E [A#] B C A B C [F] C B.
And that's it.
That's the whole section for this second section.
Okay, one more time.
It goes like this.
So B A for three times.
[B] 1 2 3 4 [F] C B A.
[D] And then A B [Am] C A B [F#] C C [Em] B.
And that's it for the right hand.
Okay, once you get that right hand.
Left hand, really easy.
There's eight chords, but all eight chords are [A#] C major [C] seven chords,
which is a four note chord.
C E G B.
So 2 3 4 5 6 7 8.
Easy stuff.
Two hands together for this.
It goes like this.
It goes
Like that.
Okay, and that's it.
Pretty simple, right?
One last time.
So do it like this.
Here.
Together.
Together.
Together.
Like that.
And that's it.
Moving on to the next section.
I will break this next section up into [F#] two parts.
It's easier to learn.
So right hand goes down an octave to this, okay?
Just the C, just above middle C.
[F] Okay, so it goes
[C] [F]
[G] That's the first part of this third section.
[Am] One more time.
It goes like this.
It goes
[Bm]
[G] [Am] [A] C B [G] C B G.
That's the first part for the right hand.
Once you get that, left hand, four chords.
The four chords are F major [F] seven, four note chord.
F A C E.
And then the second chord to [Em] E minor seven, another four note chord.
E G B D.
And the third chord alternates back to [F] F major seven again.
And the [A#] fourth chord alternates back [Em] to E minor seven again.
So there's a pattern going [F] to it, so it goes like this.
[Em] [E] So with that in mind, the two hands together goes like this.
It goes
[F]
Right hand comes in.
B and E minor [Em] seven together.
[F] Next chord by itself.
Right hand comes in.
B and E minor [Em] seven together.
And that's it for the first part.
One more time, [F] like this.
So
[Em]
[F] [F] [Em]
Just like that.
And moving on to the second and last part of this [F] section.
Right hand goes
[A] [D]
And then it goes two [E] A's.
[A]
[E] And that's it for the right hand.
One more time.
It goes like this.
[F] It goes
[C] [F] [A]
[E] And that's it for the right hand.
Left hand, we have four chords here.
The four chords [F] are
F major seven.
F A C E.
[Em] And then we have E minor seven again.
E G B D.
However, the third chord changes down to D [Dm] minor seven, which is another four note chord.
D F A C.
And fourth chord C [C] major seven.
C E G B.
Just like that.
It's pretty easy.
It's [F] as if like it's a four note chord on the white chords.
Going down one step at a time on the white notes.
Okay, so
[Em]
[Dm] [C] Turn together, it goes like this.
[F] It goes
[Em]
[Dm] Chord by itself.
G and C [C] major seven together.
Like that.
One [F] more time.
It goes
[Em] [Dm]
[C] Okay, back to back.
The two parts of this [E] section will be [F] played like this.
Check it out.
It goes
[Em]
[F] [Em]
[F] [Em] [Dm]
[C] And you [F] repeat it, okay?
[Em] [F]
[Em] [F] [Em]
[Dm] [C]
Okay, and yeah, that's pretty much it.
[F] So, hope you enjoyed the three sections of this very, very iconic theme from Sonic.
Okay, so have fun with it.
All the sections connect to each other, okay?
So first of all, obviously, it's the
[B] And it goes
Yeah, next section.
And afterwards, you can add extra stuff to it.
You can make the chords on the right hand, combine with the melody.
And then the left [Bm] hand, you can do like a bass pattern.
[C] You're like
And then next section, you can make it bigger [F] as well.
[Em] [F] [Em]
[F] [Em]
[D] [Dm] [C]
Yeah, so have fun with it, [E] okay?
So, hope you enjoyed this lesson.
