Anyway, let's get right into the lesson.
Hello guys, this is Amosdollmusic and in today's lesson, I'm going to teach you how to play
Put The Happy In The Holidays.
So here we go, give you a preview before we [Ab] start learning it.
Check it out.
[Bb] [C] [Dm]
[C] [F]
[C] [F] [Dm]
[Gm] [C] [F]
Yeah, and you can repeat.
[Gm] [C]
[Dm] [C] [F]
[Gm] [C]
[D] [Gm] [C] [F]
Alright let's get right into it.
So melody and block chords, that's the [Gb] foundation of the lesson.
From there you can add your own improvisations and decoration patterns to make your own version afterwards.
So here we go.
Right hand starts with the C, [G] one octave above middle C.
So here.
So it goes C D F [Ab] G A A [D] C D F G [G] A A.
So that's the first part.
So we're going to break it up into 4 parts, it's easier to learn.
So one more time for this first part.
So it goes [D] C D F G [G] A A [D] C D F G [Am] A A.
So [N] pretty simple, it's like a 6th note pattern played 2 times.
Left hand we have [Gm] 4 chords here.
The 4 chords are Gm which is G Bb D.
[C] 2nd chord is C Major C E G.
3rd [Am] chord is F Major F A
C.
And 4th chord is Dm [Dm] which is D F A.
[Bb] So with these 4 chords in mind, so Gm [C] C [F] F [Dm] Dm.
So with these 4 chords in mind, [D] 2 hands together it goes like this.
So right hand starts, G and [Gm] Gm together, [Bb] A and C [C] Major together, [F] G and F Major together,
2nd A and [Dm] Dm together.
That's it.
Let's do [D] it again.
So it goes, Gm.
[C]
[Dm] Alright, there you go, that's the first part.
[G] Moving on, let's go to the second part.
Right hand continues.
So it goes C D F G A A G F G A.
That's it for the right hand.
Alright, one more time.
It goes C D F G A A G F G A.
[Gb] That's it for the right hand.
[Gm] Left hand we have 3 chords here.
The 3 chords are Gm which is G Bb D.
2nd chord is [C] C Major which is C E G.
3rd chord is [F] F
Major which is F A C.
[Am] So with these 3 [Bb] chords in mind, so Gm [C] C Major [Am] F Major.
2 hands together it goes like this.
So right hand starts, [D]
G and Gm together, [Gm] 2nd A and [C] C Major together, A and F Major [F] together.
[Am] That's it.
Let's do it again.
It goes [D] together, [C] together, [F] together.
That's it for the second part.
So back to back, the 2 [D] parts we've learned so far will be played like this.
Check it out.
[Gm]
[F] [Dm] [Gm]
[C] [F] Alright, now moving on to [D] the 3rd part.
Right hand continues.
It goes C D F G [G] A A A G F up to the high C A down to [D] D.
That's it for the 3rd part.
For the right hand, let's do it again.
It goes C D F [G] G A A A G F up to C A down to D.
That's it for the right hand.
Left hand, 4 chords here.
The 4 chords is the same 4 chords as the 1st part that you've learned in this lesson.
[Bb] So Gm C [C] Major F Major [Dm] and Dm.
So yeah, with those 4 chords in mind, [Gm] so Gm C [F] Major F Major [Dm] and Dm.
2 hands together it goes like this.
[D] So right hand starts, G and [Gm] Gm together, A and C Major [C] together.
C [F] and F Major together.
D [Dm] and Dm together.
Just like that.
One more time it [Bb] goes together, [C] together, [F] together, [Dm] together.
Alright that's [D] it.
Back to back, the 3 parts we've learned so far will be played like this.
[C]
[Dm] [Gm]
[C] [F] [Gm]
[C] [F] [Dm] [F]
Oops, went a bit too far and got into the 4th and [D] last part.
So let's learn the 4th part right now.
So right hand goes C D F G G [F] G A G F F.
[D] That's it for the 4th part for the right hand.
Let's learn that again.
It goes C D F [A] G G G A [Fm] G F F.
[Bb] That's it for the right hand.
That said, we have the 3 chords from the 2nd part which you know.
Gm [C] C Major and [F] F Major.
So with those [Gm] 3 chords in mind, 2 hands together it goes like this.
So right hand [D] starts, G and [Gm] Gm together, A and C [C] Major together.
After [F] F, F Major by itself.
[Am] And that's it.
Let's do it again.
So right hand goes, [Gm] G and [C] G.
[F] That's it for the 4th part.
So back to back, [Ab] all 4 parts of this lesson will be played like this.
[D]
[C] [Dm]
[Gm] [C] [F]
[C] [F]
[Dm] [Gm] [C] [F]
[Am] There you go.
So yeah, once you get all the melody and chords all good, you can start to add your own improvisations
and decoration patterns to make it more interesting.
Remember, the chords is always in a 3-5 pattern.
It's [Bb] always like 1 [C]-2-3, 1-2-3-4 [F]-5, 1-2-3, [Dm] 1-2-3-4-5.
So [G] when you're doing the improvisations, keep that in mind because that's what you
need to do to make it sound correct.
So even so, you'll be like 1-2 [C]-3, 1-2-3-4-5, 1-2 [Dm]-3, 1-2-3-4-5.
That kind of thing.
For the left hand.
So keep that in mind.
Now, right hand, you can harmonise it on the chords.
So you can do like, [Gm] [C]
[Gm] [C] [F]
[Gm] [C] [D]
[Gm] [C]
[F] play around.
So yeah, you can really do [Ab] whatever you want.
You can even do a calm lullaby version if you want.
[Gm]
[C] [F]
[Dm] [Gm] [C]
[F] [Gm]
[Cm] [Am]
[Dm] [Gm]
[F]
So pretty [N] much, whatever version you want, you can do.
But make sure to really master the melody and block chords version first because that
is the foundation.
And with that, you can just add patterns into the left hand and right hand can harmonise
at particular spots to make up whatever feel, whatever arrangement you want for it.
But anyway, I hope you enjoyed this lesson.
