Chords for HOW TO PLAY - PACIFIC RIM THEME (Piano Tutorial Lesson)

_ Hello guys, this is Amosdollmusic and in today's lesson
I'm gonna teach you how to play this pretty awesome epic theme from Pacific Rim
Okay, so it's the main theme from Pacific Rim basically, so give you a preview.
It's pretty simple.
It goes like this

_ _ [Gm] _ _ Okay, and then later on obviously can make it bigger and stuff more epic like what I did in my cover you're like

Anyway, let's get right into it and learn the melody and chords first then we can like do other stuff afterwards
Okay, so here we go.
The theme is pretty simple stuff.
I can learn in one go
In fact, so it starts on the F up here.
So middle C go up an octave C go up to F
That's where we start.
It goes F, [Gm] E down to G [Am] and then A, [Eb] C, [C] D
[D] C, D, C, D
D, C, D, C, D
D, C, D, C, D
D, C, D, C, D
D, [Gb] C, D
[Em] F, E, G, [D] A, C, D
C, D, C, D
D, C, [F] D, C, D
D, C, D, C, D
D, C, [Bb] D
Repeat etc, [B] etc pretty simple stuff, right?
Okay, so if you couldn't catch that just rewind it right down the notes as I go and it's pretty simple stuff

What's you can do it.
Okay, you can do it.
No problem.
Okay.
So yes, let's go
So that's that for the right hand
Practice that because that's the only hard thing in the song or it's not even that hard as well
So yeah practice that left hand four simple chords and you just repeat those four simple chords in that particular order
Okay, so the four chords are D [Dm] minor which is DFA _
Second chord is [Db] F [F] major which is F, A, C
[Db] Third chord is B flat [Bb] major which is B flat, D, F and the fourth chord is G [Gm] minor which is G, B flat, D
Okay, so with [Dm] these four chords in mind so D minor [F] F major [Bb] B flat [Gm] major and G minor
The two hands together goes like this right hand starts [C] first
_ [Fm] D and D [Dm] minor together _ _
_ _ [Bm] Next [F] _ _
_ _ _ [Bb] D together
_ _ The [Gm] next D together _ repeats
_ [F] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [Bb] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [Gm] _ _
_ [Dm] Just like that pretty simple stuff and you got it after you get this melody and chord version right you can improvise with it
Okay, you can have a lot of fun with it.
Okay.
So for example the left hand you can just do like these patterns

_ _ can't think okay.
[G] So applying it to it just be [C] like
[Dm] _ _ _
_ _ _ [F] _ _ _
_ _ _ [Bb] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [A] That's right.
Okay, and then you get more [D] comfortable you can do like octaves plus chords.
[E] You can be like
Okay, so you can do like this
[Dm] _ _ _ _ _ _
[F] _ _ _ _ _ _
[Bb] _ _ _ _ _ [Gm] _
_ _ Yeah, just [G] like that adding the left hand like pattern it already makes it bigger and we haven't changed anything for the right hand and
Then you get more comfortable with that and the right hand you can do like either like more chords
Added to the melody.
So the chord based on the melody
I wouldn't know sorry
So the melody add the chords on top of it to make it more thick in texture and you can do octaves as well
You can be like, uh

so that's
I guess that's the awesomeness of how I teach because
Like you really understand how melody and chords works for all songs
You can apply the same concepts to all songs and then after that you can just like make up your own arrangement and version
Because everything else you just add it's just improvisation decorations patterns and all this kind of stuff that I always teach
