This is such an
awesome bass riff.
I don't have a bass here but I do have a guitar so I'm going to teach
you actually the bass riff because during the verse the guitar doesn't do anything.
So the bass riff is super awesome and we are tuned down to E flat so remember that, okay?
And we're going to start here on the 7th fret of the A string and we're going to kind of
do a hammer on from the 5 [Eb] _ _ [Db] for the first note.
_ [Eb] _ _ _ _ [Bb] _ _
[Ab] _ _ [G] _ [Eb] _ _ So this is what the whole thing sounds like.
_ [Ab] _ [G] _ [Dbm] _ _ [G] _
[Db] _ [Eb] _ _ [Abm] _ [G] _ [Db] _ _ _
[Em] _ _ So we're starting [Eb] here _ _
_ [Dbm] _ _ [G] _ [A] _ [Eb] _ _ _
_ [Abm] _ _ [Dbm] _ _ _ [F] _ _
on the hammer on.
_ _ [Bb] _ [Ab] _ _
[G] _ [Eb] So we're doing _ hammer on [Ab] on the 5th from the
7th on the A string.
Then we're going up to the 9th fret of the D string, 9, _ [G] 7, 6.
_ [F] _ _ [Eb] _ [Bb] _ [Ab] _ _
[Gm] _ [Eb] And
then we're going to do a pull off [Db] _ back _ _ to the 5 and [Ab] then we're going to go 7, [G] 6, _ [Db] 5.
So put that together.
[Eb] _ _ [Ab] _ _ [B] _ [Db] _ _
[G] _ _ _ [Db] Then we're going to go back to the 5 and then we're going to do
a pull off here on [Eb] the 9th.
To go back to the 7th, _ _ _ _
_ [Ab] _ [G] _ repeat that first part and then [Db] we're
going _ _ [C] _ _ [Db] _ _
with the open D but we're hitting the G string so it's 9, 7, 6, 7.
_ _ So let's put
that together very slow.
Hammer on on the A, [Eb] _ _ _
[Ab] _ _ [G] _ _ [Eb] pull [Db] off, _
_ [Ab] _ _ [G] _ _ [Db] pull [F] off.
[Eb] _ _ _ [Ab] _ _ [G] _ _
[Db] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [Eb] So that actually goes
through the whole verse.
_ [Db] _ _ _
_ [Eb] _ _ _ _ [Db] _ _ _
[Abm] _ [Db] And then the pre-chorus is _ just _ _ _ [Abm] _ the D chord, strum then triplet.
_ _ _ So
this is the power [Db] chord, 5, 7, 7. _ _
_ And then the chorus [Bb] is, _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [Eb] _ _ _
_ [Bb] _ take [Abm] me away to _
[Bb] paradise.
So it's a B chord which is 7, 9, 9.
_ [Ab] And we're just going to drop it down two frets to 5,
7, 7. _ _
[Abm] Then we're going up to 7, 9, 9 on the A string [Eb] a little higher.
Then just drop [Bb] them
_ back [Eb] to the B.
[Bb] So, _ bite [Eb] my lip and close [Bb] my eyes, take [Eb] me away to [Bb] paradise. _ _
_ [Eb] _ _ _ _ [Bb] _ _ _
[Eb] _ [Ab] _ [Eb] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [Db] _ _ [G] Back to the
_ A.
And then the bass keeps [Abm] going.
And so that's [Eb] basically the whole song.
There is a cool
guitar lick at the very end for the outro and he's like.

_ [Eb] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
So what that is, is you have
your finger here on the 9th fret on the G string and the B string _ and you're just going
to go hammer on.
_ _ [A] _ _ _
_ [Eb] _ _ You're going to play them together, 9.
Then you're [Ab] just going to hammer
on the 10th fret on the B string.
_ _ Then repeat that _ _
_ [A] _ to [Ab] the 7, 7.
_ And [A] _ _ _ _ _
then you're going to
[Eb] repeat that beginning.
[Ab] _ Then you're going to do [Eb] this, _ which is 9.
And you put your pinky
on the 12 and 12 on the highest one. _
_ _ _ _ And repeat that.
_ _ [A] _ _ _ _ [Eb] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ [Abm]
And that is Long View.
[Eb] So, remember
to tune down to E flat and you'll get that really cool tone.
Turn up the distortion [G] and
crank this mother out.
