What's up you guys?
Marty Schwartz here bringing you a legendary song by a legendary artist.
We'll zoom in and I'll show you the chords, the rhythm, a couple cool little tricks in
there, not too hard but really give it that signature sound.
And also just really appreciate your support.
This is where I'm going to be from here on out, this YouTube channel.
Please make sure you've subscribed and I appreciate comments and liking the videos and all that stuff.
Thank you so much.
But enough of that, we'll zoom in and break this one down.
Here we go.
[C] All right, let's get to it.
So we're going to start with a C major chord and then we take our index finger off and
that is called C major 7.
Then we go [F] to an F chord.
And I'm playing F with ring finger on the third of the [A] D, middle finger on the second
of the [C] G, and then index on the first of the [F] B.
And I'm just letting it mute that high
E, getting those low strings in there.
And I'm playing it this way because my middle finger is going to go, [Bm] it's going to play
[A] a little [Bm] lick.
[C]
[F]
[Em] [C]
[G] [F]
[Em] [C]
[G] [F]
[B] [C]
[F]
[B] [C]
[F]
[Bb] [B] [C]
I'm just going [E] 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and [F] 1 and 2 [Ab] and 3 and [G] duh buh [C] duh.
1 and 2 and 3 [Em] and 4 [F] and 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 [C]-dee
[F] -duh.
[Em] 4 [C]-dee-duh.
[G] [F] 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 [Em] and 1 [C] and 2 and 3 and 4.
[A] So that lick is on the G string and it's middle finger on that second fret, [Bb] 2-3, [B] open
B.
[Bb] [B] [F]
[B] [Bb] [B]
[Bb] [B] [Am] [B]
So check it out.
[C] C, D, D, D, D, open [F] F.
[Bb] [B]
[C]
[Em] [F]
[Em] [C]
[G] [F]
[B] [C]
[Em] [F]
[Bm] [C]
[G] [F]
[Bb] [Bm]
[C] And then before the [Em] next section,
[F] it doesn't do the lick.
And it stays on F.
Imagine [C] walking down to [Dm] D minor
[C] and then a C note, [G]
G, G, F.
So [C] [F]
here's what's happening.
It's an F chord and then ring finger comes off
and middle finger moves up to the second fret of the D.
So,
[C] that [F] finger's still there.
So F, [Em] this walk down [C] thing, and then a D minor.
And I'm playing the D minor with my pinky
on the third fret of the B.
Takes a little getting used to,
but this is how I always play this D minor now.
Cause there's situations where your ring finger
needs to be free to hit this third fret of the A string.
So [Dm] we have a D minor where it's index
on the first fret of the high E,
pinky on the third fret of the B,
and then middle [Db] finger on the second fret of [Dm] the G,
and then ring finger goes to the third fret of the A
[F] while I'm holding that D minor.
So F, [C]
walk down, [Dm] D minor,
and [C] the C note [Dm] with it,
[G] then a G chord for today.
Do, do, starts [C] over again.
[Em] [F]
[Em] [C]
[Em] [F]
[Em] [C]
[F]
Now [Em] [C]
[Em] [Am]
[F]
[G] [Em]
[Dm] [F]
[G]
[F] [C]
[Dm]
[C] [F]
[G]
check this out, the next section you may say,
[F]
[G] F to G, [C] C, major seven, [G] [E]
to E seven.
So it [F] goes F, you [G] made G, I'm [C] a C,
[E]
[C] and it's nice to take that index off
to make it C major seven,
[E] and then E seven which is middle finger
on the second fret [B] there of the A string,
and index on the first fret of the [E] G.
[Gm] Check it out.
[F] [G] F to G, [C] then a C chord,
[Bm]
[G] E [F] seven, F, [G] but I'm G to G to [C] C,
major [G] seven, [Bm] E seven, [F] F, [G]
G, C, C, C, C, C, C, C, C, C,
[C] C major [Bm] seven, E seven, [G] [F] F, [G]
G,
[C] we'll see the top, here we go.
[F]
[Em] [C]
[Em] [F]
[Em] [C]
[Em] [F]
[Em] [C]
[Em] [F]
[C]
[Dm] [C]
[F] [G]
[Dm] [F] [G]
[C] [Em] [Bm]
[G] [F] [G]
[C] [E]
[G] [F] [G]
[C] [Em] [E]
[G] [F] [G]
[C] All right, [N] there was a lesson.
