How to Play "How's It Going to Be" by Third Eye Blind on Guitar (Whole Lesson) chords
Start Jamming...
What's up guys, Brandon Slavinski here and today we are learning the entirety of Third
Eye Blinds, How's it Gonna Be.
So what we're going to do is we're going to just kick it right off right now and we're
going to start off with the verse, alright?
So I'm going to show you the verse and I'm going to show you that cool little lead that
goes over it.
Starting off on an F, you're going to go just like this, full F.
It's going to be 1, [F] 3,
3, 2, 1, 1.
And then [C] you're going to transition to your C and that's mute, 3, 2, 0, 1, 0.
And then we're going to transition to a B flat and you're going to mute that low [Bb] E again,
index finger on the first fret of the A string.
And then I like to use my pinky, some people use their ring finger, I'm going to use my pinky.
And that's going to be 1, 3, 3, 3 and then if you want to get that 1 down at the bottom
there, go for it, if not, not fully necessary.
So [F] that's your chords right there, so the intro and the verse, [C] okay?
[Bb] And that's the rhythm right there.
[F] Down, down, down [C] up, down, down, [Bb] down, down.
[F] Pretty simple.
[C] [Bb] [F]
[C] [Bb] Alright and then on top of that we've got this sweet lead that's going on, sweet lick.
[Cm] Or you could go, [Bb] flip.
[C] You can go there too.
[Gb] But I'm going to teach it my way.
So check it out.
What you're going to do is you're going to take [Bb] your index finger up on that high E string,
fifth fret and what we're going to do is it's going to be a hammer on pull off, [Dm] just like
that with our [Am] ring [Bb] finger.
We're going to leave our middle finger on the sixth fret of the B string, okay?
[Cm] That's the first part, okay?
[A] [Bb] And so what you're doing on that slide, you're going to be sliding from the [Fm] sixth fret to
the eighth fret.
[Bb]
And then you're going to go like this.
[C] Okay and that's what you're going to do is you're going to be on the G string and you're
going to slide from the fifth fret to the seventh fret.
[Bb]
[F] And you're just going to repeat it, okay?
[D] [C] And then we transition [F] back to the verse.
Back to that F, [Bb] C, B flat.
[F] [C]
[Bb] [F] [C]
[Bb] [F] [E] C, B [Bb] flat, right there.
And then we're going to go into the pre-chorus.
I wonder, and that's [Gm] going to be a G minor.
Looks just like this, alright?
And that is three, five, five, three, three, three.
I wonder how's it going to be.
We're going to go down to the [F] F.
When you [C] don't know me.
And then we transition to [Gm] the C, so just like this.
[C]
[Gm] The next part after that, okay, is going to go from the G [F] minor to the F [Bb] and then to a B flat.
So you're dancing between that C and the B [Gm] flat.
So this is [F] three.
[C]
C the first [Gm] time, G minor, and then [Bb] F, B flat.
[Gm] When there's [C] no one there to talk to [Gm] you, between you and me.
[F]
[Bb] Cause I don't care.
Ending on that B flat and then kicking [F] it right back into the verse.
How's it going to be?
[C] [Bb] Alright, so let's [F] kind of kick it into the chorus now, right after that, so you can get
the [C] full song.
We're going to skip [Bb] over the second verse, alright?
And then [Gm] wonder, how's it going to be [Bb] [Em] when you [F] don't know me [C] anymore.
Alright, so that's like the chorus, right?
[Gm] And to do that, you're going to do the G minor to [Bb] the B flat, [F] and then you're going to kick
it to the F, and [C] then a C.
[Gm] How's it going to be?
So it's, how's it [Bb] going to be when [F] you don't know me
[C] anymore?
[Gm] How's [Bb] it going to be?
How's it going [F] to be?
[C] [Bb] So that is all of the chords that you need to know to be able to play How's It Going To Be.
