Hey YouTube, today I'm going to show you how to play Hallelujah by Alexandra Burke.
Well, it's not by her, but it's her version, so that's like a hell of a lot easier to play
[Am] on guitar than like any of the other [F] versions.
So, main thing is, the first thing you need is a capo, if you want to play along with her on the CD.
But with the capo, that is just purely because of your voice.
I mean, if you had like a low tenor voice,
you might only want it on like, well you might not want a capo.
Anyway, so what I'm going to do first is I'm going to go through the chords you're going to need
and how to play them.
And if you already know C, A [Gm] minor, [Am] F, G and E [G#] minor, then you're set.
So you know, just skip ahead to when I actually go through where the chords fit in.
But right now I'm going to go through how you actually play them, like finger by finger sort of thing.
Anyway, let's just play our shift a bit.
Right, so the first chord you need is C.
So you have your first finger on the first fret, fifth string.
Your middle finger on the second fret, third string.
And your ring finger on the third fret, second string.
That sounds like [F] this.
[B] Then you have A minor, you move your ring finger onto the string between where your other two fingers are.
So you move your ring finger to the second fret, fourth [Dm] string.
Sounds like this.
[Gm] Next chord is F.
Now there are a couple of ways to play an F.
You can bar one of them.
One is a bar way, but I don't know how to do it, so funny enough, I ain't going to show you that one.
So I'll show you the one that I do.
You take your first finger and you bar the fifth and sixth strings on the first fret.
Then you put your middle finger on the second fret, fourth string.
Then you put your ring finger on the third fret, third string.
That sounds like this.
Next chord [Em] is G.
You put your first finger on the second fret, second string.
Then your third finger on the first fret, third string.
And your ring finger on the fifth fret, third string.
And your pinky on the third fret, sixth string.
That [C] sounds like this.
Okay, cool.
One more chord and that is E minor.
You take your first finger and you put it on the second fret, second string.
And then you take your middle finger and you put that on the second fret, third string.
Sounds like [Am] this.
Yes, dudes, we learned all the chords!
Anyway, so like I said, there are two ways [D] to play this song.
There's [G] picking, or chords.
Well, I might have said it, I don't know.
I said it in my head, but anyway.
So with the picking, use [F#m] strings 2, 3, [D] 4, 5, 4, 3.
So that's 2, 3, 4, 5, 4, 3.
So when you want to change chords, you have 2, 3, 4, 5, 4, 3, [F] [Bm] change.
2, 3, 4, 5, 4, 3.
Okay, so that's picking chords.
So what I'm going to do is I'm just [E] going to quickly go through it and show you a bit of chords, a bit of picking, whatever.
With the whole singing thing, you know, hey, I am not amazing by any stretch of the imagination,
and I don't really care because I'm not here to teach [G] you to sing at the end of the day.
Anyways, now that's off my chest, [D] so the first way.
So I'll just go through it now.
[Bm] [D] [Bm]
[D] [Bm] [D]
[Bm] [G] [A]
[D] [A] [D]
[G] [A] [Bm]
[A] [F#m] [Bm]
[G]
[Bm]
[G]
[D] [A] [D]
[E] So, you know, that was it, both like different types of versions.
Anyway, [Bm] so basically it starts with an introduction.
So there's an introduction of C, A minor, C, then A minor [D] again.
So that sounds like
Then [Bm] [D] [Bm]
[G] the singing starts, and that once again is C, A minor, and then, you guessed it, C, A minor.
So, [Fm]
[D] I heard there was [Bm] a secret chord [D] that David played [Bm] and it pleased the Lord.
And [G] then it changes to F.
You don't really care [C#m] for music.
C.
[D]
Do you?
Back [C#m] to G.
[A]
Well, [Gm] it's like I said, it's a bit weird.
I mean, it starts with a C, and then on the words fourth it goes to F,
and then on the words fifth it goes to G.
With the picking, the fourth and the fifth bit sounds a bit weird, but, you know, you'll probably figure a way around.
So like I said, C, then F, then G.
Anyway, [D] goes like [G] this, the [A] fourth, the fifth, [Em] then to A minor, [B] then minor, then fourth, then major, [G] then F, fifth.
That one, once again, is a bit weird.
Anyway, [C#m] so then G for the baffled king.
Baffled king.
Into E minor.
[F#m] Composing hallelujah.
[B] Then A minor on the lujah bit.
Lujah.
Then it goes straight into the chorus, so back into Hallelujah.
[F] That was F, and you kind of play that twice, and then go into A minor on the second hallelujah,
so you'll get it when I play it anyway.
[G]
[Bm] Hallelujah.
Hallelujah.
Back to F again.
[G] Hallelujah.
Halle C.
[D]
G.
[A] Right to [D] C again.
And [G] then, you know, if you're going to do the second verse, which, unfortunately, I don't know,
[N] then you just play the instruction, like, once or twice, I don't know, then you go to the second verse.
Anyway, so, you know, like I said, it's kind of easy.
It depends on which version you do.
But, yeah, if this video is any good, you know, please comment, please rate or whatever, you know,
please leave me some help hints, like this first tutorial I've done.
Anyway, so, you know, have a nice life, dears, and keep playing.
