What's up guys, Brandon Slavinski here.
I've got an awesome lesson for you.
This is Cole Plays, God Put a Smile on Your Face.
Now check it out.
The cool thing about this is that the tuning is like down several steps from what standard tuning is.
So everybody pull out your tuner and what you're going to do is you're going to tune
your guitar down as such.
It's going to be a C sharp.
So if you want to match that pitch.
[F#] And then an F [F#] sharp.
[B] And then a B.
[E] And then an E.
And then [G#] an A flat.
[C#] And then a C sharp.
I even had to tune my A flat a little bit.
And at the end of the day when you play an E chord, that's how it's going to sound.
Rich and deep.
So check it out.
Speaking of E chords, E is the first chord that we're going to be playing.
So it's going to be 2 2 1 0. And then we're going to be playing like these weird chords the entire [C#m] time. Next we're doing like a G [E] chord, right? It's going to be 3 5 [C#m] 5 4 0. And then we're just going to go down a [D#] half step to an F sharp. And that's going to be 2 4 4 3 [G#] 0. And then [D] down to an F. Which is 1 3 3 2 0. [C#] And then the strumming pattern. [C#m] [D#] [C#] [C#m] [D#]
[C#] Let me slow that down for you guys, okay? [E] [D#] [C#m]
[D#] [C#]
[C#m] Where do we go? [D#] Nobody knows. [C#] [C#m] I've got to say [D#] I'm on my way [C#m] down. [C#] [C#m] God give me style [D#] and give me grace. [C#] [C#m] God put a smile [D#] upon my face. [A] Now we're going to do the chorus real quick. It's going to go to a C. Mute 3 2 1 0. [E] And then to a G. Which is 3 2 3 3. [F#] To an A. Which is mute 2 2 2 0. [A] [E] [F#] [A] [E] [C#]
[A] When you're working [F#] with to draw the line. Your [E] guess is as good as [C#] mine. [G#] See that transition? Super simple. So [F#] C G A. Those are the [N] chords that you need to know for that. Don't forget that tuning. Be sure to figure it out. I hope that intro helps you out to just kind of get your guitar where it needs to be. But, you know, it's always better to have a tuner so that [C#] you can get accurate pitches. Alright, so that's the song. Until next time, we will see you out there in the [N] rock world. Peace.
