All right, hello to all of my viewers out there Jabar Brown here
Today's lesson will be by Tasha Cobbs fill me up
we'll be in the key of a flat and we want to take a basic approach
for this lesson
the sound that I'm using is the [G] superior grand piano on the Roland RD 700 SX and
I made a track something very simple that we could use try to get to it at some point during the lesson
Show a few examples [Ab] or so
I'm gonna add
[A] Soft pad and
See if we can
Show an example with that as well
We may get to it.
We may not just see how how it goes.
All right, so
I'm just gonna get started.
We're gonna break down some chords here.
It's a beautiful song by Tasha Cobbs
[Ab] Again, like I said, we're in the key of [N] A flat so
What I'm gonna do is just play through a little bit without the track and kind of explain as we go along
All right, so let's go
[Ab] All [Fm]
[Db] [Ab]
[Db] [Ab]
[Db] [Gb] [Ab]
right.
So this is basically [Db] your intro.
All right.
So what I'm doing in my left hand is I want to sustain on the Db
And my right hand I want to go back and forth [Eb] from F and E [Db] flat.
All right
And you'll notice I also hit the A flat in my left hand, but what I'm doing is [Bbm] I'm taking
Instead of just playing [Db] chords
Which you could do that now we could take the D flat and the A flat
All right, and occasionally what I'll do is I'll take one note and I'll bring in the A flat
Later, you know, so we just kind of start
All [Ab] right, so you can either play more of on a rhythmic
[Db] Platform.
All right, or you could just actually just play the two notes together.
All right All right
So you're just kind of randomly placing or randomly hitting the A flat
all [Ab]
[Abm] right, and
What I'm doing [Ab] now is I take the A flat and also as you can see the E flat
In the left hand the right hand.
I want to go up to
Starting with the A flat [Db] A [Cm] flat B flat and C
All right.
So basically the chords here are
[Db]
in the left hand D flat in the right hand D flat F and
A flat which is basically a C sharp [Ab] D flat major and
Then we go to the A flat in the left hand.
The right hand is A flat C
and E flat
All right again again the only difference here is that we're just chopping it up and kind of [Db] dissecting it a little bit and
[Ab] You also [Eb] notice I'll put the B flat in there as well.
So, you know, it's it's more
more so a
Rhythmatic approach [B] versus just [Db] playing chords flat out
All [Ab] right, and you can actually just hit random
Notes within that chord, which [Db] would be a flat B flat [Eb] C and E flat as [Ab] you walk up the scale
[Db]
