Hi, this is Asha, teacher at Envoy Music.
Ever since I started teaching, the most common song request I've had is Enni Niyaponnilave.
So we're going to teach the song in two separate videos.
Today, we'll be teaching you the introduction of the song.
And to teach us the lead part, I have my colleague Kishore here with me.
Here we go.
[Cm]
[Bb] [Cm] [Bb] [Cm]
[N] Interestingly, this very short piece of intro has two different time signatures.
They are 4-4 and 3-4.
This will probably make much more sense when you learn the rhythm part of it.
Now, I'm going to play the intro.
You could find the tabs as they appear on the screen or you could find it in the description below.
[Cm] [Eb]
[D] [Cm] [D]
[Cm] [Eb] [Fm]
[Bb] [Cm] [Eb] [Fm]
[Bb] [Cm] [Ab]
[Cm] [D] [Cm]
[Gm] [Cm] [Eb] [Fm]
[Bb] [Cm] [Eb] [Fm]
[Bb] [Cm] [Ab]
[Cm] And now for the rhythm section.
This can be divided into three steps.
Step number one is knowing your chords.
[Bb] [Cm] [Bb] [Cm]
[Eb] The chords for the intro, it's a little bit challenging, but it's just a matter of time before you get these chords.
Your C [Cm] minor.
Your [G] E flat major.
[Eb]
Don't worry too much about the sound of it.
Just make sure you get your positions right for this chord.
[Fm] Your F minor.
[Ab] And your B flat [Bb] major.
We'll do that again.
Your C minor.
[Cm]
[Eb] Your E flat major.
Your F minor.
[Fm] And your B flat [Bb] major.
[Bbm] [Abm] And when you're ready with these chords, that's step [Cm] number one.
[Bb] [Cm]
[Bb] [Cm] [N] Step number two.
Knowing how to count.
I always keep stressing on how important counting is.
And for this song, it's even more important because it has two different time signatures at the starting itself.
So, the first thing you'll have to know is learning to count along with the intro.
I'll play a recorded version of the song and we'll try to count along with it.
[C] [Eb]
[D] [Cm] [Gm] [Cm]
[Eb] [Fm] [Bb]
[Cm] [Eb] [Fm] One, [Bb] two, [Cm] three.
One, two, [Ab] three.
One, two.
I would suggest that you count along with the song a few more times.
And when you're really [Cm] comfortable doing that, you're ready for step number three.
[Bb] [Cm] [Bb] Here [Cm]
[N] in step number three, the changing time signatures will make a lot more sense.
And when we practice, we're going to practice it like this.
In the first two bars, the C minor chord is going to come on count number four.
One, [Cm] two, three, four.
One, two, three, four.
And here [B] the time [Ab] signature changes to three counts per bar.
So you'll have to start playing the chords on count number three and count number one.
It goes like this.
One, [G] [Eb] two, three.
[Fm] One, two, [Bb] three.
[Cm] One, [Eb] two, [Fm] three.
One, [Bb] two, [Cm] three.
One, two, three.
Okay.
I'm going to do the same thing slowly again.
So try to follow me.
One, two, three, four.
One, two, three, four.
One, [G] two, [Fm] three.
One, [Bb] two, [Cm] three.
One, two, three.
[Fm]
One, [Bb] two, three.
[Cm] 1 2 3 [Bbm]
1 2.
Now to put things in perspective I'll play the same thing
along with the track so that it becomes all easy and understandable.
Here we go.
2 [Am]
[Eb] [D] 3 [Cm] 4 1 [D] 2 [Cm] 3 4 [Eb] 1 2 3
[Fm]
2 [Bb] [Cm] 3 1 2 [Eb] [Fm] 3 1 [Bb] 2 [Cm] 3

2 [Bb] [Cm] 3 4 [Eb] [Fm] 1 [Bb] 2 [Cm] 3
1 2 3 1 2 [Ab] 3
You [N] might find the song a little challenging at the start but practice makes it simple.
So happy practicing.
