[C] [A]
[B] [G] [Am] You are my African girl, [F] [G] the girl of my dreams You take me [A] where I've never been
You [F] make my heart [G] go ting-a-ling-a [C]-ling You [Am] are my African girl,
[A] [Bm] the girl [G] of my dreams
[C] You take me where [A] I've never been And that is the [G] African beauty
[C] Hi guys, Barno Lawi here.
This time what I'm going to be teaching you is the song which is called African Queen
by Two Face, how to play it on the guitar, the chords for African Queen.
Also the chords are very same, but they're the basic chords.
You have the C chord, the C major chord, [A] then you go [D] to the A [Am] minor chord, [Bb]
F chord, [G] F [F] major
chord, [G] and then the G chord.
Yeah, so that's literally the chords you use in the whole song.
[C] The C chord, [E] [Am] the A minor chord, the [F] F major chord, [Bm] and the G major chord.
[G] [C] Now, you don't just strum it like that, the strumming is kind of different right now.
For the African Queen, it goes something like, you go down on the first three strings, one,
two, three, and then you pick the last one up.
Get that, one, two, three, yeah, so something like this.
So don't use this when you're playing the C, only use it when you're playing [G] the G.
Yeah, so it goes something like this, you start from the A string, [C] one, two, three.
You see that, one, two, three, one, two, three, [Bb] and then you go to A, [A] and you do the same
thing for A,
[Am] A, you do the same thing for A, you go to F, [F] same thing for F, [Bm] and then G.
[G]
[C] Now, after you get that, the next thing you do is that, when you strum it like that, you
go something like, [Em] you don't leave it like that, [Am] the way, the sustain is not going to
make it sound so good, so you [G] like, use your hand to stop the vibration that's turning
to go [C] more and more, something like, did you see that?
[Am] And then you go to A, F, [G] and then G.
[C] [Am] That's literally the whole song.
[F] [Bm] [G] Yeah, [N] so that's how to play African Queen by Two Face, and the same thing applies to
the chorus, the verses, because I just sang the chorus at the beginning, the verses, like,
the [C] beginning of the song.
[Am]
Just like the sun, lights up my heart, you [G] light up my life, [C] yeah, [Am] the only [C] one [B] I've
ever seen [C] with a smile so bright, yeah, [Am] just yesterday, hey, [F] you came around my way and
told my whole scenario with your astonishing beauty and blah, blah, blah.
So, the same thing applies for the whole of the song, just one, two, three, up, and then
stop it, one, two, three, up, stop, and then A minor, one, two, three, up, stop, F, one,
[Ab] two, three, up, stop, and then G, one, two, three, up, stop, one more time, C major,
[Am] one, two, three, up, stop, A minor, one, two, three, up, [N] stop, F major, one, two, three,
up, stop, and then G, one, two, three, up, stop.
