Well hi everybody and welcome to the horse
Now the horse which is a song written by America.
You can get it on YouTube.
It's actually called the horse with no name and
You can strum along with the boys in the band if you master [E] these two very very simple chords
And they're very very easy to play and one of them is the e [Em] minor
[Bm] Which is just middle finger [A#] on the fifth string one two three four five and you put [B] him down just behind the second fret
I'll shift it back a bit there because the [Em] next finger you want to put down is the third finger
And he just goes in right behind the middle finger on the fourth string second fret again, so two fingers
Behind second fret and strum one two three four right the next chord is
[F#m] the e minor I
Think it could be a D sharp
type chord
And all it is [G] again is two fingers
And you put your middle finger on the top string second fret and you put your third finger on the third string second [A] fret
So you've got a D sharp up there
[E] Or [F#] F sharp up there.
Sorry F sharp [D] and then down there.
You've got [F#] your third finger on the G string second fret which is an A
[F#m] [D]
That's all it is so [E] it's like doing the splits you take your e minor split the two fingers apart
Middle finger to the top string third finger to the third string and strum [A] again one two three [Em] four
Right let's try it all together right we're going e minor one two three four [D] splits one two three
four [Em] back in again
two three four and out [A] again and
[Bm] In time with a bit of practice with some up and down rhythm you get [Em] one and two and three and four
[D] Change two and three and four back again two and three and four one two and three
[Em] Been through the desert [D] on a horse with no name [Em] felt good to be out [D] of the rain
[Em] in the desert
[D] You can't remember your name cuz [Em] there ain't no one [D] for to give you no pain
[Em]
[Bm] [Em] [D]
[Em] [A]
[Em] [D]
The secret with a [E] rhythm is just let some [G#] breathing spaces in [Em] between your beat
So it's not kind of down up down of all the time.
It just leaves some gaps like
[D] So I kind [G#] of a down and down up down on the right hand down
[Em] And [D]
maybe just occasionally an extra upbeat at the [Em] end down up down
[D]
[Em] The whole beat at very end sometimes comes as you're changing chords, that's okay
Just keep the left hand moving one and two and three
[F#m] Four and if you're [G] not sure about rhythm basically what I'm doing with the right hand is very simple
[Em] I'm just going down down that's twice down one two and then up down up down
one two and three and four [A] one two three four [Em] and like I said leave some spaces in between [D] the
Strumming [Em] occasionally and [A] [Em]
also a good thing in that song is to include the top string which [F#] is nice and bassy
[Em] That's the E string
[D] Can you hear it?
[F#] [E] Just as part of your rhythm
[F#] [Em]
[D] [Em]
