[Gb] [Ab]
[Abm] I was nervous to begin with [Ebm] the idea of making [B] a music video that I or we as a
band [Gb] appeared in.
Generally in the past [B] I've always approached it you know
trying to not be in a [D] music video [Dbm] you [Abm] know animations and public performances
and I was very [Eb] nervous about trying [Bb] in any way to look cool [B] so I figured if I
[Db] was going to be in a video I may as [B] well be as close to [Gb] myself as possible.
It was terrifying [Db] but I just thought about [Bbm] something that I [Abm] actually do and that is
dance alone.
[B] The song says we will both find [Bbm] out just not together.
[Abm] It's just the
idea of me [Ebm] dancing through my [B] house alone [Eb] seemed perfect.
[Abm] [B]
The concept [Gb] itself was [Ebm] pretty, there were a few things I was [Gb] certain of and that
is that I wanted [Abm] my [B] character to [Gb] believe [Ebm] she was alone [Gb] and then toying with [Bbm] the
idea of [Abm] when are you alone.
I like the idea [Bb] that in the video [B] it's hard to tell
if those people really appear or if [Gb] it's all in my head.
[Abm] It's never really
you know [Bb] declared what's [B] reality and what's fantasy.
[Gb]
[Ab] [Abm]
Derek Belcham really captured the [Ebm] spirit, did everything he could to just get
[Bb] my [B] vision and part of that was was [Gb] the light.
He came up [B] with the spotlight that
the second I saw that [Db] I was totally [Gb] enchanted with it.
It reminded me of [Abm] Buffalo 66.
[Ab] [B] To me it was like David Lynch meets a [Abm] Beetlejuice.
It's a dance party so it was
just [B] a dream that he [Db] captured it, that [Gb] idea so [Db] perfectly.
[B]
Made sure I was able
[Ab] to be relaxed because you know there's really [Ebm] nothing more vulnerable than
dancing as yourself.
[Gb] My moves were not [Ab] chosen for me [Ab] per se.
[Ebm]
We had an excellent [Bbm] team.
[Ab]
[B] I felt very self-directed about [Eb] how I wanted it to feel.
[Gb] One of the things that [Ab] I was thinking about [B] was there's a part in [Eb] that [B] 70s cartoon,
[Ab] I think it's from the 70s, Snoopy Come Home, where, [B] spoiler alert, Snoopy comes [Ebm] home.
Snoopy finds his previous owners [Gb] in the hospital who's home for Charlie Brown.
[B] And he [Abm] leaves to go [Ebm] meet her and Charlie Brown is [Gb] devastated and [B] the day that
Snoopy leaves, Charlie Brown goes [Ebm]
back into his house [Gb] and makes a bowl of
[Abm] cereal for himself [B] and it's just a little moment.
[Ebm]
We pay [Gb] homage to it with the cereal in the video, [Abm] the BAM cereal.
That's copying [Bbm] the cereal from [B] Snoopy Come Home.
[Gb]
[Abm] It was tricks.
[Db] Solid choice.
