I don't think there's a lot about what I do that has changed
in terms of my vocal approach to music.
A lot of the music that I sing has changed, and it varies.
But there's always been a variety of styles and approaches
to the music that I chose to sing.
So I don't think that much has changed.
And I also don't think that change is some necessary evil
that you have to experience, otherwise you're stagnating
as an artist.
I never believed that either.
I listened to early Barbra Streisand, and I know it's her.
And I listened to her on her special the other night on TV,
and I knew it was her.
And although her voice has matured, you know,

is really stylistic more [N] than a conscious effort
to change or to evolve.
