[Eb] [Bb] you're a [N] fool.
Welcome back.
We are currently calculating the scores for our six couples here tonight, but the entertainment just keeps on coming, doesn't it?
Now, this next man has sold over 900,000 CDs here in Australia from his two albums, She and It Had To Be You.
We are lucky to have him.
He's currently touring Australia, but he's taking tonight off to join us in our little studio here for the first and only TV appearance with his amazing big band.
We are lucky to have Mr.
Harry Connick Jr.
[Eb]
[Bbm] [Bb] How y'all [Bbm] feeling?
[Bb] [Bbm]
[Bb] Oh, now's the time for all good men to [Bbm] get together with one another.
In every problem, in every corner, you gotta live it, brother.
You gotta find a peace within without stepping on one another.
To respect the women of the world, just remember we all have mothers.
Now we [Bb] can have a better life in the world we live.
Now we can be a better man with the kindness that we [Bbm] give.
I know we can [Gm] make it.
[Bbm] I know not that we can't work it [Bb] out.
Yes we can, I know we can, can.
Yes we [Bbm] can, can.
Why can't we make it work if we can't make it?
I know we can make [Bb] it work.
[Bbm]
I know we can make it if we try.
Yes we can, [Bb] I know we can, can.

Children are strong, but the youths don't know.
[Bb] They don't know we boys and girls.
To respect the women of the world we live.
Now we can have a better life in the world we live.
[Bbm] I know we can make it.
I know not that we [Bb] can't work it out.
Yes we can, I know we, can, can.
[Bbm] Yes we can, can.
Why can't we be in it if we can't make it?
I know we can make it work.
I know we can make it if we try
Yes we can, I know we, can, can.
Yes we [Bb] can.
Praise God Almighty, yes we can, I know we can, can.

can.
We can, we can.
We can rock and breathe, we're one of the few.
I know we can make it work.
I know we can make it if we tried to.
Yes, We Can Can is the name of that song from your fantastic album Oh My Nola, which you're
currently touring around Australia showcasing at the moment.
It's a very, very happy song and a lot of people say that it's a great way to describe
your kind of personality and your attitude to life and also the way that you love and
attribute your history to New Orleans as well.
Is that a fair comment?
I think so.
I'm pretty laid back and the people I hang with are pretty laid back.
I like to have a good time.
New Orleans is kind of a feel good place, much like I think Australia is.
I think that's the reason I keep coming back is because I feel that the people are real
laid back and they like to have a good time too.
So the whole CD is kind of a tribute to the whole good nature of New Orleans.
Yeah, and we're seeing a lot of it now obviously.
It's a good sort of power packed thumping song about we can overcome adversity.
Hurricane Katrina had a massive impact on you.
What was the defining moment?
Because you're obviously kicking the tin and part of the proceeds from the album go
to some rebuilding projects.
What was the big impact on you through that whole process?
Well, going there the day after the hurricane and seeing it, seeing the devastation was
the worst part.
I think I've always, since the hurricane, felt I had some sort of responsibility to
go around and let people know that it still has a very long way to recover.
It's like if you come to Melbourne or Sydney or another great city and you see that the
downtown areas are very much intact, but when you go out into the residential areas, many
of those areas are destroyed and it's very iffy as to whether they'll come back again.
So my main concern is just to let people know that we still need a lot of help down there
and all of their prayers and contributions and all of that stuff is still very much welcomed.
Well, we've bought a lot of your CDs in the past.
Very worthy applause too.
I'm sure we'll buy a few more in the future.
What are Australian audiences in for when they see your show traveling around the country?
Well, I think I have the best group of musicians in the whole world with me and we're playing
a bunch of New Orleans music and we mix it up every night.
We played two nights in Sydney and they were as different as you could get and we just
like to have a good time.
We don't really plan too much.
We just go out and play the tunes we want to play and just have fun.
We always have fun down here.
You live this double-pronged approach to your life where you're great musically, you've
just been critically acclaimed for your performances on Broadway with the Pajama Game and plus
all the movies we see you in and Will & Grace.
Acting versus music.
It's a real tug of war in your life, isn't it?
It is a little bit.
I'm glad that I have people around me that really kind of know how to help me organize things.
At home, that would be my wife.
I mean, she's the one that really kind of helps me keep my head on straight and I have
a great manager who kind of helps me work things out and keep both careers going simultaneously
without interfering with one another.
Well, how cool is it to have the king of cool, Mr.
Harry Connick Jr.
here tonight?
We are lucky.
He's going around the street and all the details
