The Rock is gonna fall on [F] us, he woke with a [D] start,
And he ran to his [Eb] mother, the fear darkened his [Gm] heart,
And he told her of the [F] vision, that he was sure he'd [D] seen,
She said, go back to sleep son, you're having a [Gm] bad dream.

[F] Everybody knows, that it won't tumble to the [Eb] ground,
Remember Chicken Little, said the sky was falling down,
[D] Well nothing ever came of that, the world still [Eb] whirls around.

_ _ The Rock is gonna fall on [F] us, he stood and told the [D] class,
The professor put his chalk [Eb] down, and peered out through his [Gm] glasses,
But he went on [F] and said, I've seen it high up on the hill,

_ [Bb] [Cm] One night while he was working, [Bb] building braces on the ledge,
The ground began to [D] rumble, the Rock trembled on the edge. _

[D] And indeed the Rock was moving, [Eb] crumbling all the dust,
[G] He ran under it, with one [F] last hope that he could add a prop,
[D] And as it disappeared, the Rock [Gm] came to a stop. _ _
The people ran into the street, [F] but by then all was still,
[D] The Rock seemed where it always [Eb] was, or where it always will [Gm] be,
When someone asked where he [F] had gone, they said, oh he was [D] left,
Who cares about that crazy fool, and then it's [Gm] thought to them.
_ _ [Cm] But high up on the [Bb] mountain, when the wind is hitting it,
[Fm] If you're watching very closely, [D] the Rock slips a [Bb] little.
