That's the Halo theme song.
Per request of one of my subscribers, dude I'm sorry I forgot your name.
[G#] If you wanted me to [Em] mention your name on the channel just send me it again dude.
I couldn't find it.
I know you requested this and I was like great idea.
I still remember saying that to you.
Sorry.
Make another request.
I'll make sure to get [G] a shout out to you.
Good request man.
What I noticed, the [E] very beginning there's this cool little lead thing.
Like it'll start [F] with [C]
[Em] a
Then he uses after that what sounds like an Ebo.
E-B-O-W.
And there's this little thing.
It looks like a slide.
But you run over the strings and it just creates this really crazy cool sound.
So this is the main rhythm to it which is what I was assuming you wanted.
And it's [F] pretty simple.
It just sounds cool.
Sounds like something Black Sabbath would do [G] to me or something.
It's standard tuning.
You go three palm mutes on the low [E] E.
Oh wait [Em] I didn't show you the
I [G] could show you the dive bomb.
[C] [F#m] Kind of tricky.
It's gotta [G] be right about there.
Not right above the third fret but slightly behind it.
And have your volume up obviously.
Push the whammy [D] bar down first.
[G] You gotta pick as that [D#] finger's right there.
You're gonna catch a natural harmonic, not a pinch [E] harmonic.
[G#] Slowly bring the bar up and then slowly bring it [D#] back down for a big whammy.
And then that leads into [E] the three palm muted Es.
By the way I'm using delay obviously on there which is the echo you hear.
And my [G] channel two distortion on my Mesa boogie.
[E] So one, two, three, palm mutes on that and then power chord.
This is E5.
Fret [Em] seven on the A.
Fret nine on the D.
This is what they use in heavy metal and rock a lot.
Hit the A and D [E] together.
Hit a ring and then do an upstroke on those two again.
[Em] And go right back into three palm muted Es.
Move that power chord a whole step sharp up to nine and eleven on the A and D.
Hit [F#] those two.
Hit that ring.
Hit an upstroke on the A and D.
And go back to three more palm muted [E] Es and then go a
half step [C#m] sharp which will put you on 10 A, 12 D.
So we're doing [A] an E5 power chord, an
F sharp five power chord and a [Em] G5.
We [G] have a 10 fret A, 12 fret D.
Hit that ring.
Hit it again with an upstroke on the A and D.
Three [Em] more palm muted Es.
Hold on, my eye [D] itches.
[A] Move it a whole step sharp to 12 and 14.
That's an A5 [D] power chord.
[A] [F#m] And then this is a quick [F#] change.
If you're not used to moving your power chords quick, [Em] this is going to be a good thing to
work on for that because people do have trouble with it like in Iron Man where he's sliding
the power chords back and forth.
It's basically the last three chords you played descending, no palm muting.
It's [F#m] just
And you want to alternate pick that, [G] down up down.
[F#] Or up [A] down up either way.
I would go down up down.
It'll [G] be a little more powerful.
12 A 14 D, 10 A 12 D, 9 A 11 D.
And just go down [Am] up down.
[F#] Then start it back over [A] without the whammy bar thing.
[E] Just three open Es.
Lock it in.
So that's the Halo theme song.
I'll probably do more of it down the road.
It'll be kind of cool when I get into the solos [G]
to maybe do this whole song.
The lead part of it.
So I hope that works for you.
