Hi, this is Lita Ford and you are getting your fix of metal injection.
Hey, this is Lita Ford.
We are at Matt Umanoff Guitars in New York City.
We're gonna go guitar shopping.
Come on.
[Ab]
[Eb] [Ab] [Eb] [A]
[G] I went to high school with a bunch of musicians.
And [Gm] we would ditch school every day just to go and jam at somebody's house.
And I think hanging out [Em] with these guys and growing up with these [G] guys really was my [Eb] main inspiration to [G] play.
And then I saw my first rock concert when I was 13, [Gm] which was Black Sabbath at the Long Beach Arena in [G] California.
And that changed my life.
But I didn't have any reason to actually pick up a guitar.
It was just something I wanted.
[Db] 1976 SG.
[Eb]
[B] Wow.
[N] That's what my first guitar was.
I think it was a [Eb] 75 though.
Very [Ab] first electric guitar I ever owned.
It was [B] a chocolate SG.
Very [Gb] cool.
Custom.
I bought it for [F] $350.
[A] Brand new.
Wow.
What a fat neck.
[G]
[F] Wow.
[Ebm] I can't believe you [E] have this in here.
I [G] didn't have any female role models to look up to.
So I just went ahead and played what I wanted to play, not thinking about the [Cm] fact that I'm a chick [G] and that chicks don't play guitar.
I don't know.
It [Eb] just came natural.
[B] There's more and more women [G] in metal now than there ever was, which is awesome.
[D] [Eb] So I'm really [D] happy to see that.
[B] I can go to my grave [D] with that in my [Db] heart and rest in [C] peace knowing that I [Eb] helped.
This store comes with [B] a tech.
That's great.
I love it.
[Gb] And a female at that.
[Abm] I love it.
[Bb] [D]
[Dm] [Bb]
I like this guitar.
Vintage [Eb] guitars [G] are, they have a feel to them.
It's kind of like driving an old car.
The older cars are built stronger.
There's more room in them.
They have a look to them.
I think vintage guitars are the same.
They just have a certain feel and a certain sound.
The wood, everything is different in the vintage guitars than the guitars that they [C] build today.
When I shop [D] for a guitar, one of the things I look [G] for is a good feel on the neck.
You want to make sure that the neck is not too skinny or [D] too fat.
My hands aren't that big.
I don't have to have such a wide neck.
So I think if you're shopping for a new guitar, one of the best things [G] to look for is a neck that's comfortable for your hand.
[G]
[Em] [G]
[C] [Eb] Some of my favorite guitars, of course the [Abm] acoustics, are the Taylors.
[G]
You can walk into [D] any music shop [Ab] and pick up a Taylor.
[G] Nine times out of ten, it's going to [A] sound great.
[G] [B] Of course I love an [Eb] old vintage Les Paul [G] Custom.
[D] Those are [E] worth its weight in gold.
[G] [Ab] And the old BC Rich Warlocks.
The old BC Riches, [D] the Mockingbirds, [G] the Warlocks, and the Rich Bitches.
Please [Dbm] look for my live album that's coming out this [B] October 2013.
[Abm] We'll be out touring [Db] through the US, through [Ebm] Scandinavia.
So we'll see you on tour.
[B] [Db] [Eb] [B]
