Hey, what's up you guys?
[A] Marty Schwartz here at GuitarJams.com.
I had [G#m] a lot of success with you guys with the [D#] five shapes of the [Dm] minor pentatonic scale.
So I'm going to give you the five shapes of the major pentatonic scale right now.
And then also I always [F] have a bunch of cool stuff.
I've got some cool blues style lessons that are not on YouTube.
You can click the link below to check those out as [N] well.
I really appreciate it.
But let me show you those shapes.
Here are the shapes of the A major pentatonic.
We're going to really still pay attention to where all the roots are.
Let's put our pinky on the fifth fret of the E string.
[Am] That's our root.
Then we have this position.
[C#] Two, five, two, four, two, four, two, four, two, five, two, five.
That same position, [B] but the root's there.
[A] And then the root's also on the second fret of the G.
[G#] And it's on the fifth fret of [A] the high E.
[B]
[A]
[F#] Two, [A] five, two, four, two, [G#] four, two, four, two, [F#m] five, two, five.
[B] All right, the next position would be five, seven, [C#m] four, [E] seven, [A] four, seven, [C#m] four, six,
[F#] five, [B] seven, five, seven.
And the roots,
[A]
[C#m] [B]
[A]
[C#]
okay, the next [A] position has a root.
Right there on the seventh of the D and ten of the B.
[A#] [G#]
Okay, and it looks like this.
[Bm]
[C#m] [B]
[E] [A]
Real nice [E] one, actually.
Just [A] remember, the root's down there.
And so you'd have [E] seven, nine, seven, nine, [B] seven, nine.
[E]
[C#m] Then you'd have six, nine.
[E]
Then [A] seven, ten [G] on the B.
[B] And then seven, nine on the high E.
[F#]
[B] [C#m] [A]
[E] [B]
[A] [B] All right, the next one is going to be, the root's going to be on the 12 of the A.
And still ten on the [A] B from that other position.
[A] And it looks [G#] like this.
Nine, twelve on [E]
the E.
Same thing on [F#] the A.
[G#] Then nine, eleven, nine, eleven.
[Bm]
Then ten, twelve.
[Em] [A#]
[B] [A]
[B] [C#m] [F#m] [A]
All right, still got the root right here.
[E] And we're going to do this.
[B]
[G] [A#]
And it's twelve, fourteen.
Twelve, fourteen.
[C#m] Eleven, fourteen.
Eleven, fourteen.
[B]
[A#] Twelve, fourteen.
[C#] [G#]
[B] [F#] [A]
[E] [F#] And then what we're left with is the first position I taught you again.
Because we're back to the A, all the way up to the 17th fret.
And you're just back here in our home row master position.
[B]
Here they are one more time.
[A] [B] [F#]
[A]
[E] [F#]
[C#m] [A]
[B] [F#] [B]
[C#m] [B]
[A]
[F#]
[A] [E] [B] All right, that was it.
[F#] Hope that helped.
Hope it was another piece of the [B] puzzle for you.
I'll see you in another lesson real soon hopefully.
Take care.
See you.
